According to early figures, singles sales were up 466 per cent week-on-week and 96 per cent up on last year's Record Store Day, while albums were up 8.9 per cent week-on-week, and up 11 per cent on last year's event.
April 22, 201015 yr I queued from 8:30am - the shop was total chaos but great fun. Picked up Gorillaz 10", Foals 7", bat For Lashes 7", Hot Chip 7", Primary1 ft. Nina Persons 10", Beach House 12", LCD Soundsystem 12" and Caribou 12" Very surprised to see a Tinie Tempah 7" on sale for his number 1 track Great day out and can't wait for next years
April 22, 201015 yr Record Store Day should be considered a success if only for getting Ash in the top 100 again. Not that I like Ash, but their single-every-two-weeks campaign flopped epically until Record Store Day week, when Dare To Dream made #87.
April 22, 201015 yr forgot about this, did anyone get the new blur vinyl? would love if hmv brought back vinyl for singles - its so much better than cds!!
