Thats a decent enough top 20, maybe knocking Call The Shots and Disturbia out and you've get quite a good list there

Lady Gaga will walk it of course, but mainly because BR is still fresh in peoples minds

plus 4 male acts in the top 20 is pretty good for BJ, Im sure there were none last year

It is truly bizarre but wonderful to see MGMT in there.

agreed

Could be that after hearing Chiddy Bang totally murdering their song, people respected how good the original really was

My Life Would Suck Without You top 30 of the 00's?...watch that one crash next year

Counting down #20 to #05 in batches of twos:

20 23 20 7 15 P!nk – Just Like A Pill 193

19 26 7 172 58 Arctic Monkeys - I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor 195

A pair of #1 hits. Check. Both peaked at #7 on this countdown in different years. Check. Both have climbed from last years top 30. Check. Both are brilliant pop anthems. Check.

18 34 10 4 7 Christina Aguilera – Beautiful 197

17 39 146 55 148 Snow Patrol - Run 199

Well (virtually) all these songs are anthems left aren't they? Xtina is up first with her early 2003 UK#1 hit written by Linda Perry; and indie-rockers Snow Patrol lose the battle with their breakthrough hit against the subsequent UK#1 cover by Leona Lewis.

16 10 30 X X Girls Aloud – Call The Shots 201

15 24 29 17 20 Beyonce ft Jay-Z – Crazy In Love 202

Up first is the Tangled Up single, that I'd certainly rate in their Top 3 singles (to date?) - you might want to look at this pre Cheryl as X-Factor judge X-Factor performance by the five girls; and then we have the global blockbuster by the former Destiny's Child Beyonce featuring her husband on this infectiously catchy track.

14 35 13 10 26 Anastacia - Left Outside Alone 206

13 44 X X X Rihanna - Disturbia 213

The missing link between Tina Turner and Taylor Dayne finest four minutes on record was co-written with Dallas Austin & Glen Ballard. This song from her self titled third album went Top 10 all over Europe, and reached #1 in Australia, yet this never charted in her native America. Next up taken from the re-release of Rihanna's third album, Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded. Is the third single from the re-release, following "Take a Bow" and "If I Never See Your Face Again" which reached UK#3 and USA#1 (the 4th of her 6 US chart toppers to date).

12 X X X X MGMT - Kids 215

11 3 19 26 19 Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone 217

I wonder why this MGMT track has done so well this year? Is it due to the truly fantastic video featuring Joanna Newsom released in June 2009 (8 months after the single) that gave the track a second wind in the UK, and pushed it to become their first ever USA Top 100 hit; or was it due to a certain awful Chiddy Bang single sampling it early in 2010? Then we have a faller for the original American Idol winner, perhaps due to her 2009 UK/USA#1 hit taken some of the shine away from this (and Behind These Hazel Eyes) in the voting.

Now to the Top 10 which sees just 4 songs in it the same as last years Top 10; three songs climb from last years Top 20; two new (Lady GaGa) 2009 songs; and a climb of over 100 places for Robyn. Whilst the Killers are the only act featuring dominant male vocals in the Top 10 ........

Anyways .....

10 16 X X X Leona Lewis - Run 219

9 9 24 X X Sugababes – About You Now 233

At #10 .... now that's what I call a cover showing that despite Simon Cowell's and Syco's best efforts of unintentionally screwing up a substantial talent's career ("the sappy snorefest "Happy" as the first single from her second album Echo, and leaving the brilliant #1 in waiting "Outta My Head" as an album only track, what are those idiots on)... a diamond can come through a turd. I've posted the Radio 1 Live Lounge version as I think it was even better than the single. Then comes the last (ever?) UK#1 hit by the Sugababes (v 3.0) taken from their album Change, written by Dr Luke & Cathy Dennis (who has two more songs in the Top 10). This song is so bomb proof that the Saw Doctors covered it and took it #1 in Ireland in 2008. Whilst in 2009 Nickelodeon star Miranda Cosgrove took the song into the Top 50 in the USA.

oh dear the bottom 4 were all far better than most of those above it- Call the shots and Disturbia above Run and I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor <_<

Glad Kids did so well, Shame Snow Patrols Run lost out to Leonas- although I cant say it was unexpected

No sign of the GaGa yet ......

8 4 1 6 6 Britney Spears - Toxic 236

7 125 33 X X Robyn ft. Kleerup – With Every Heartbeat 249

First up is this truly fantastic track falling to its lowest position to date (and co-written by Cathy Dennis), could it be her plans of replacing Madonna as the Queen of Pop have gone GaGa?; and now a song that was a contender as the most pleasant surprise as a UK#1 hit in the last decade. If only Radio 1 had got behind The Girl and The Robot in 2009 like they got behind this track....
