4th Leona Lewis – Bleeding Love 267

- Probably the only good track she'll ever record. A strong, urban ballad. Not like the wet $h!t she records now.

I disagree with most of your comments. Disturbia>>>>>>>Umbrella and Kids is the real WTF moment in the top 20 for me (even though I love it). However, you've hit the nail on the head there. Happy and I Got You seem like a real musical regression in comparison to Bleeding Love for the casual single buyer. The ironic thing is, it was Spirit that was full of wet ballads, and Echo which has the generally well produced often more lively pop on it. It's just that the singles from Spirit were incredibly well picked and the singles from Echo weren't. All of her singles are basically red herrings to what's on either album  :drama:

I can remember when I first heard Umbrella, and people where raving about it for months before it was actually released. It definitely stands out, the hook, the chorus, just everything about it. I've always found Disturbia to be pretty generic. :( Definitely agree with you on Leona Lewis however! I sold my 'Spirit' album purely because it was pretty tiresome, the production was a bore, yet the singles where picked well. Whereas with Echo has the better material and production, the single choices are incredibly weak.

I just want congratulate TIP for this amazing game. I have had fun being apart of it. :)

So glad Bad Romance won. It's one the best songs I have ever heard. The song will never get old and seems to get better with every listen. Congrats to Gaga :cheer:

I prefer 'Umbrella' and maybe even 'Toxic' over both of those GaGa songs. :( And I am a huge fan.

I would've preffered 'Poker Face', but both are amazing I guess.

20th P!nk – Just Like A Pill 193

I think "Who Knew" is her best song, but this is an easy second, glad to see she had something in the top 20.

19th Arctic Monkeys - I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor 195

Decent enough, don't really enjoy anything else I've heard of theirs.

18th Christina Aguilera – Beautiful 197

One of those songs that are an undeniable classic, but I don't really love. I can listen to it when I'm down, but then it feels like such a cliché. Possibly too overplayed. "Hurt" is better.

17th Snow Patrol - Run 199

I'm not a fan of Snow Patrol ballads, have to say I prefer the Leona version.

16th Girls Aloud – Call The Shots 201

Glad this isn't in the top 10, it's the sort of song that could only be considered decade defining on Buzzjack. A decent enough Girls Aloud song, but they are yet to produce a classic.

15th Beyonce ft Jay-Z – Crazy In Love 202

I always want to moan about how overrated this is but, when I put it on, I'm always reminded that it's pretty justified.

14th Anastacia - Left Outside Alone 206

Big MEH at Anastacia. This is alright, but her wailing got boring at least 5 years ago.

13th Rihanna - Disturbia 213

Pretty much the same as what I said for "Call The Shots", only Rihanna does have a classic at least.

12th MGMT - Kids 215

Random. Good song, just far from my decade fave list.

11th Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone 217

I used to love this but, "Never Again" aside, Kelly Clarkson seems to have a short shelf life for me. Hardly play this anymore.

10th Leona Lewis - Run 219

Stunning version of the song. I agree in saying the original live version trounces the studio one, but she sounds lovely on it.

9th Sugababes – About You Now 233

Well, this probably is the best girl group song of the decade, so I'm pleased to see it finished as such.

8th Britney Spears - Toxic 236

Same as "Crazy In Love". Both have better though.

7th Robyn ft Kleerup – With Every Heartbeat 249

Used to think this was overrated on here, but I've realised it's beauty. Random, but deserving, UK #1.

6th Kylie Minogue - Can’t Get You Out Of My Head 250

Ehhh, the instrumental is more interesting than the rest. Never was that fussed with 'la la la, la la la la la'.

5th Killers - Mr Brightside 257

I know this is supposed to be a classic, but I don't even know how it goes?

4th Leona Lewis – Bleeding Love 267

This is truly amazing. It's easy to pass it off as overrated but I think it's one of those songs that gives you goosebumps, it's that good. Can't wait to see this live.

3rd Rihanna ft Jay-Z – Umbrella 272

I may give Rihanna a hard time, but this clearly deserves all the praise it gets.

2nd Lady GaGa – Poker Face 324

Eesh! A GaGa top 2, I suppose at least we got the order of them right. I think this one might still be top 10 in a year though, "Bad Romance" might have a fall a bit like "Just Dance".

1st Lady GaGa – Bad Romance 364

This was a real grower, didn't like it at first, but it's certainly something worth giving time. Not sure if this'll hold on next year, it's not had very long to date.

Anyway, thanks TIP for hosting this again, I always enjoy the voting and reading of the results.

This years Record of the Decade shall start after DanielMFAO has finished his #2 songs of the 2000s competition.

I'll be away from 26 - 30 June in Sicily, which means my number 2s rate has been delayed. Do you wanna start Record of the Decade then? (this will mean when I come back in July this will have to run alongside the wildcard and final round as well as results for my rate)

Really looking forward to this :yahoo: I guess it'd be nice to take a break from adding up points

This quote has all the information on dates for my rate, incase you're wondering:

Sat 18 June - Individual Round

Tue 21 June - Individual Round (NOT Monday as I'm going on a school trip to Bolougne (or however you spell it lol) and am leaving early.)

Thu 23 June - Individual Round

Sat 25 June - Individual Round (I am purposely leaving the 2010 + 2011 round till' last so that any recent number 2s don't miss out)

Fri 01 July - Wildcard Round (yes I know it should start on the Monday but I'll be on a trip to Sicily from 26 - 30 June and obviously won't have internet connection)

Sun 03 July - Final Round

Tue 05 July - Results Thread week

I hadn't seen that, thanks!

If I open nominations on Monday or Tuesday with voting beginning a week later when the results of yours starting then I think....
