and what is that award exactly?

Its like the Japanese equivalent of the Brits, but without as many awards :P Theres the Gold Awards [the best one] and the one Koda-Chan is up for is kind of a Well done award :P

 

but many people are tipping 2007 to be Koda's year, she rose this year with her best ~sessions~ but with her last single going to #1 and Ayumi's popularity declining, people are really anxious to here her next album 'Black Cherry' so that, if it is up to people's expectations, will be huge.

 

It's been a slow year for J-Pop :(
