I wouldnt say charting at #43 is doing well... especially since it got A-list support from Radio 1.

The song however isn't anything special, kinda boring tbh. Not surprised people didn't take to it. Seems like they were trying to recreate their older sound, but failing pretty badly at it.

#42 actually

To be fair it got very little actual airplay

Yeah but I was thinking a band with their fanbase, and constant R1 airplay would at least go top20. #42 is terrible for a lead single
By the way, how is the album for you? I am listening to it now, quite good. I'd prefer tracks with less length though.

They didn't fail that much !

"The Dance" is apparently #2 in the album chart this Sunday !

Glad to see one of the pioneers of British dance music back at the top !

What's wrong with artists recreating their older sound ?

Didn't The Prodigy go back to their rave roots with their album from last year (which was good)

I prefer this to Guetta's / inna's / Cascada's and the vast majority of eurodance artists' lack of originality

"Feeling good" feat Dido is tops !

I loved Faithless in the past. I think this song is OK, but nothing brilliant. BTW It's rather an album track than a single imo, so I'm not wondering that it didn't peak inside the top 40.

BTW the song was released also in Germany and peaked at #63.

Isnt the single an album only available at Tesco??? If so that would explain the single not doing aswell as we would have liked, still though the album entered the UK charts at number 2 which is great news, shame they didnt beat Rolling Stones to number 1.
By the standards of the genre as it now exists (and let's face it Dance as a genre has gone WAY downhill in the past decade, esp in its more mainstream incarnation), this tune stands head and shoulders above the majority in 2010, IMO, sure it may not be as balls-to-the-wall as a lot of the harsh underground European stuff (such as Combichrist, Suicide Commando, Pzychobitch or Accessory); or the Psytrance stuff (such as Infected Mushroom) that I listen to, but it's a good, solid tune the likes of which we dont hear enough of anymore.... I would say that Faithless and Pendulum are definitely the leaders of the quality Dance pack, and Chemical Brothers and Orbital are about to make a comeback too. Good news as far as I'm concerned....
