That whole concept was one they (or rather their PR people, as the Spice Girls were blatantly incapable of actually having an original thought in their heads...) stole off the "Riot Grrrl" scene of the early 90s (Bikini Kill, Huggy Bear, L7, etc.....)....

 

 

I remeber that channel 5 thing, just before it launched, there just used to be a loop with loads of promo for it for days!
