  1. Just the other day it was announced the 1986 mix of Boys Don't Cry will be re-issued on physical media within a matter of weeks. Source- The Cure / Boys Don’t Cry (86 Mix) – SuperDeluxeEdition
  2. Very impressive - this may have been asked already, but have any other songs managed to do more weeks than that (can include songs with non-mover weeks or that had already peaked)?

  4. It's been broadcasting for about five months now according to a Tweet today so sounds like it's coming up to the end of the third cycle; apparently it takes 50 days to play all 15000 hits.
  5. The first one that came to mind was The Prodigy's album 'Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned' which was released the week before lead single 'Girls' got its full release - you could argue a very limited edition of 'Girls / Memphis Bells' had been released earlier. I do recall The White Stripes album 'Elephant' was released before lead single 'Seven Nation Army'. (Previous album 'White Blood Cells' charted well ahead of the release of its lead single 'Hotel Yorba'.)

*Warren G - 'Prince Igor' on Now 39 has a fair bit, despite being the 'Radio Edit' from the single (same on the music video). *Tasmin Archer- In Your Care (Now 24) ('son of a ...!') depending on perhaps context or what you think of the word, I suppose, although performed on TOTP on radio as per.. in turn, the Meredith Brooks song on Now 38..

Pinkees – Danger Games – 1982 This is back on Spotify :)
  8. I wonder, when was the last time the top 3 had all spent 10 weeks or more on the chart? Is it more common nowadays or maybe in the early days?
  9. 'Vauxhall & I' by Morrissey :D (album)

I was pleased to see I had charted "Rocking Music" with a peak of No.17 in May 2004. Nothing else unfortunately, but I can just about remember "Everybody" when it was out.

  12. Keep a backup of all your .M4A, .M4P, .M4V files rather than rely on the iTunes cloud.. I can still play the purchases from 'back in the day' that dropped off the iTunes catalogue. ("Everybody" by Brown Eyed Girls feat. Bog Tone being one of them!) I have yet to upgrade my old Windows XP machine so that I can continue to play my OD2/Napster/Tesco legal purchases from 2003-2005.. even though I burnt most of them onto CD, I will hold onto those licenses as long as possible.
  13. Fascinating chart run for "Don't Start Now" with its staying power - presume its brief dip to #14 was due to Christmas week. "Physical" could now do with leapfrogging DSN in the coming weeks.
  14. 11 months - yes, it was a monthly chart. #26 -May 98- 'Someone' : SWV 27-43-46-40-26-27-34-35-36-44-41 8 months #22 -May 05- 'Emily Kane' : Art Brut 22-24-25-26-30-32-44-46 [hm..] 7 months #24 -Jan 99- 'Enjoy Yourself' : A+ 44-24-42-32-38-32-48 #26 -Apr 00- 'Private Emotion' : Ricky Martin 26-31-45-36-45-35-48 #25 -Nov 00- 'Time To Burn' : Storm 31-37-27-25-48-41-41 #33 -Apr 01- 'Don't Panic' : Coldplay 43-36-33-36-50-34-45 #29 -Jan 03- 'Luv U Better' : LL Cool J 32-43-33-32-29-31-46 #22 -Feb 05- 'Banquet' : Bloc Party 50-22(Re)-26-31-50-31-43(Re)

I did chart 'Wisemen' (peaked at #3) at the time and then in June 2006 'You're Beautiful' managed to scrape in at #37.
