I've actually came to like the beat of Good Times though I'm not a fan of the grime & rap aspect.

The charts are very static today, cant see much happening.Ellie got a nice boost from JR, she came across as really nice.Of course loved Alex she looked great but the show could have done with her singing live.I did not think it would do much for All Night Long but Overcome up to 31 on itunes.

^ exactly that interview will help more the album rather than the single, and thats what they want, they are desperate to boost her album sales to hit 600,000 if its possible..

 

Guns and horses will enter top 40 then...looked like it was struggling a bit before.

Well whatever gets you through the day.I am sure we all like going back to ancient history in terms of sales figures to feel better.Back in the here and now and real world I am sure it is who can sell singles and alums now and who it seems is Missing in action.lol

Can you both please stop bating each other and other Leona/Alex fans it's getting boring.

 

Many artist have lots of promotion which isn't a bad thing as promotion sells and sales are what is needed so artists promote and it is far from unusual for artists to release 4 singles from an album quite often more singles are released from albums. Just because Leona Lewis only releases 2 singles per album doesn't make it the ideal and normal thing to do.

^ Hmm maybe, but i dont think the chart is on leona's mind at the moment, its on her first UK tour for her fans.

I completely see where Lovestoned is coming from.

 

Every label would prefer the album sales to increase rather than the single sales as they receive more money from albums.

 

Alex is already at a secure album total (~590k) so added album sales aren't crucial at all but there's potential for Overcome to sell over 700k imho.

 

And this whole Echo VS Overcome argument is immature. Alexandra is at an unfair disadvantage as she hasn't had a ballad released yet and doesn't have Leona's debut's hype. Leona is at an unfair disadvantage as she has only released two singles (both adult contemporary, directed at the same audience) from Echo (unfortunately :snif:).

 

If Alexandra releases The Silence, or sings it on BGT (unlikely), the album sales would rocket imo. But, as a single, it wouldn't do much. Top 20 at best. But then that would be really good for a fourth/fifth single.

 

In Leona's case, Outta My Head would obviously be the best choice as it is directed at a completely different audience and would give the album recognition to OMH's demographic. Can't Breathe & Don't Let Me Down would be the only other great choices imo - possibly Naked as well. :P
