Maybe they're worried a fake version will pop up out of nowhere.

And a full digital single with mixes on the 28th will probably help stablise sales and keep her high on the charts. Or if she debuts a bit low, the full release may help her go to #1. :cheer:

It all depends on the promo - if she's doing Jonathan Ross, Britain's Got Talent, or has a major TV special - the #1 is practically hers.

Shame she can't do another "An Audience With...". The first one was great. :D

What a beautiful video

This MUST be number 1

I don't know why they don't just coincide the physical with the download both on the 28th, pretty mindless decision.

What's so mindless about it? Kylie is a big name artist whose song will have been on the radio five weeks already by the time the download's out on the 13th; there just isn't any need to wait the extra two weeks.

If anything having the physical out two weeks later, one week before the album, allows for a possible miniature sales surge which might push the song back up into the top 3/5 or whatever to give it more exposure for when the album's out. It's a pretty good strategy. You're mad if you don't think waiting til the 28th to release the download will lose them tens of thousands of sales.

14th June

Eminem – Not Afraid

Example – Kickstarts

Kele - Tenderoni

Kids In Glass Houses feat Frankie Sandford - Undercover Lover

McLean – Finally In Love

Robyn – Dancing On My Own

Her major competition that week. Eminem will already have been out a while so I doubt a physical will do much. I'd expect the latter 4 to all make top 20 but they won't be a threat. Example and whoever is #1 the week before [Tinie Tempah probably] seem to be the big players against her. There's also the Glee season finale that week though I doubt they'll cause any trouble as an EP with all the episode's songs out is released the same week Madonna stylee.

I honestly think Kylie'll be a one week #1 before La Perry steals and the physical release and then the album release a week later will keep the song performing strongly rather than taking massive drops which has been the fate of some of her hits in the past.

This will either be #1 or #2 behind Tinie Tempah.

Example will be #3 max unfortunately, I can see it peaking lower than WGQ. :(

Its ok not the best kylie song, top 5 maybe?
What a beautiful video

For longer even than Bryan Adams!

Nah - us Kylie fans won't let some urban $h!te beat her!

It won't though, it'll have given the video about a month of exposure (which is standard) and exactly the right amount of time since being playlisted by radio stations. I don't know, I'm just sure staggering the release like this could cost her a #1 somehow.

Im the same i think the delay in the phyisical will cost her the number 1 as if they all got released together fan power alone could nearly get it to number 1 as all fans would buy all formats in the 7 day period that would help it get number 1, with this stategy it will be divided.

On saying this the phyisical coming later will probably see the single re climb.

I sense hesitations from the Kylie nation - this song is so much better recieved than "2 Hearts" & "Slow", but I do think some random song will unjustly block this from #1. :(
It didn't grow on me and find it quite weak. Predicted top 5 but wouldn't be surprised if it gets to #1 just because it is Kylie!!

If it gets to #1, it won't just be "because it's Kylie". Afterall she hasn't had a #1 since late 2003.

Exactly, 2 Hearts only made #4 and that was a big comeback for her. A new Kylie song is not a guaranteed #1 by any stretch of the imagination.

Although All The Lovers will probably get to #1. It might be held off by the new SyCo World Cup single 'Shout For England', a mashup of Tears For Fears' Shout and Blackstreet's No Diggity performed by Dizzee Rascal & James Corden and collecting funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital (again) which gets performed on Britain's Got Talent's final.

I like it, apart from the bit at about 2:45 when it sounds like they've just thrown every instrument they could lay their hands on all over the top of each other.

However, Kylie's not the big name she was 10-20 years ago, I could see this missing the top 20 altogether on downloads. Very few of the artists around from her heyday are able to still sell loads of downloads to compete with the R&B/Hip-Hop domination that the youth of today downloads in their thousands.
