July 19, 200618 yr Author Yeah exactly.. if her solo career is succesful, it could definately do the band some good..B) Like you said, they definately deserve it! Edited July 19, 200618 yr by CSCfan
July 19, 200618 yr the home album didt do near aswell as others, they are a very talented group who deserve better here in ireland they still do very well in the album market all there albums have made number 1 here, they havent had that good singles success but they arent a singles band i hope andrea's solo stuff goes well both singles and the album,i wonder will she be using her fine body in the promotional tool if so it would do no harm at all !!
July 19, 200618 yr I'd be surprised if Andrea DID start using her body to sell, seeing as all three girls have always insisted they don't believe in doing that...
July 19, 200618 yr If she comes out with Corr-style stuff then I think she will flop as it would be a waste of going solo. I hope she shocks people and does something different. good point...
July 20, 200618 yr Author I'd be surprised if Andrea DID start using her body to sell, seeing as all three girls have always insisted they don't believe in doing that... Indeed, and since she will also be playing a piano, and *just* singing, she won't use it like *some* other female singers (thank God!).. ^_^ But I'm sure she will still entertain/hypnotise us like she has done in the band [during live gigs]..
July 20, 200618 yr could it be a delta goodrem kinda sound or even lucie silvas with a piano invlolved
July 21, 200618 yr I will be buying either way, loved The Corrs, Borrowed Heaven is just perfection.
August 2, 200618 yr Author And Corbijn is indeed working on the album cover, etc. A demo of the album is sent to Atlantic, as well as a few versions of the EPK..B) Hopefully we'll learn more later this month!
August 23, 200618 yr Author The album may get released till January.. :( Though it's a logical choice, coz of all the big releases in the 4th Quarter.. Edited August 24, 200618 yr by CSCfan
October 31, 200618 yr Author From today's (Ireland) Evening Herald & Daily Mirror: SOLO ANDREA SET TO BE RUNAWAY HIT Singer Andrea Corr is reportedly gearing up for a 50-date European Tour in a bid to launch her solo career. The 32 year-old star is said to be planning a series of high-profile concerts, even thought work on her first album hasn't even been completed yet. The sultry brunette has been bombarded with offers from top promoters desperate to sign her up for lucrative solo tour next spring. The Dundalk singer said recently how she was considering a break from her chart-topping siblings and thinking about starting a solo project. PROMOTERS She has been performing with sisters Caroline and Sharon and brother Jim from an early age and collectively, the band have scored a string of hits worldwide. But music insiders reckon Andrea, who has taken time out previously to pursue some acting projects, has enough star quality to go it alone. “She could easily make 1m euro from a string of sell-out dates if the demand is thereâ€, said a source close to the star. “All the promoters reckon Andrea will be one of the biggest tours next year. She has never done anything like this before and the fans are really excited about what she’s going to come out withâ€. “At this stage, it looks likely there will be up to 50 shows at various venues around Ireland, the UK and Europeâ€. It is also believed that Andrea’s record company is gearing up to invest a fortune in promoting the album. A team of top stylists, publicists and music directors will be hired for the release of the upcoming album and tour. The source continued: “Andrea is putting everything she has got into this album and it’s already shaping up to be a real classic. She has to come out with something that’s completely different to anything the Corrs have done in the past. The plan in to release the album amid a blaze of publicity and get it to the top of the charts around the world. We’ll also see a new-look Andrea as she takes her first big step towards solo stardom. People are going to be really surprised by what she comes out withâ€. But despite all her solo plans, Andrea has insisted that it won’t spell the end for the family group. “We’re all taking a break to do our own things but we’ll definitely be back together for more albums and tours in the futureâ€, she said. “I’m working on my solo album now and it’s been great funâ€. Next month sees the Dundalk stars releasing “Dreams – The Ultimate Corrs Collection†on November 20th. As well as the band’s greatest hits, the track list will include remixes of Goodbye and When the Stars Go Blue featuring U2 frontman Bono while Ronnie Wood performs on Ruby Tuesday.
October 31, 200618 yr I really hope she does well as The Corrs are a nice family group with good music and it seems like she is getting a lot of coverage with regards to the fact that she is going solo however, I feel that she should be more of an album artist as to be honest I not sure I can see her doing very well releasing singles. I don't think she's someone who the average age of single buyers which is teenagers and 20 odd year olds would buy so I think she would be better off being an albums only artist however I hope I'm wrong and that she is successful in both releasing singles and albums although if she does flop on both then that could cause a slightly tricky and embarrasing situation with regards to The Corrs releasing new stuff as that could have a bad impact on them so I think she's taking a risk but I hope it pays off.
October 31, 200618 yr Author True, but remember: singles are only an instrument to promote an album (and to make an album sell better). And going by your logic, then it's good she will do a tour, because that's another good instrument..:) Besides, with people like Bono, Anton Corbijn, Nellee Hooper, etc. backing her up, it should be big..B) Edited October 31, 200618 yr by CSCfan
