Get outta my way is number 1 on Spanish itunes, this means that it will find a new peak in Spain...

Aphrodite is currently at number 8 on spanish itunes also, I guess promotion has paid off finally in some country...

Looks like GOMW is not a bad song afterall!!!!

I adore get out of my way. Still not sure why it didnt do great in the UK.

Because the public didn't like it.

I think cupid boy would have definitly done better and possibly better than today, since better than today started getting promo the album has gained about 35,000 sales which is great, get outta my way didnt do much for the album at all.
That's not really 'Better Than Today' helping the album, it's the big promotion (X Factor, Children In Need) and it's Christmas so there's bound to be big sales.
I think 'All The Lovers', 'Get Outta My Way' and 'Aphrodite' are the only three that scream "single" on the album, the problem is they're pretty much all good songs that don't sound like hit singles especially.

I disagree...."all the lovers" got to no3 and is her biggest single in 10 years, so I think that says it was an excellent singles choice. "Get outta my way" didnt do as well but its still a great pop song in my opinion. If you look at other artists though such as Pink, Scissor Sisters and Duffy, they have done alot worse with their first singles from their latest albums.

You can't really include Pink there, it was the first single from a GH and she didn't promote it here at all. #13 is really good and it is holding up quite well.

I think that the main problem for Kylie is that no other track on Aphrodite lives up to the epicness (not a real word but it saves time) or ATL.

There was loads of hype around it and it is one of her biggest hits. GOMW was slightly overshadowed by it, kinda like the singles that Foloowed Confide In Me.

This is my personal take on it.

Errr you misunderstood me. I meant all the tracks EXCEPT those three.

oh sorry...I actually think "closer" and "put your hands up" would have been strong single choices..but I guess the may also have struggled as the market is currently dominated by urban music.

I still dont think the Pink single has done as well as I expected..I think its her first single from an album that hasnt gone top10. Yes, its hung around longer than Kylie but its probably not sold as well as the first singles from her other albums although the main reason for this is its not a strong lead single.

Regarding Confide in me, not quite sure why PYIMP didnt do well, its a strong credible follow-up whereas "where is the feeling" should never have made it as a single and was clearly the wrong choice.

True, but she promoted those other singles :P Feel free to post in the Pink forum btw, my wifey and I will be happy to have more posters.

PYIMP was released too soon after CIM I think and WITF was released too late.

Considering Kylie popularity at that time put yourself did reasonably well and if my memory serves me correct kylie was one of the few acts in the charts at that time who managed to climb after debut week.,
