I noticed Azerbaijan had been made album only the other day. Shame really, as if they do well on Saturday then that song would be in with a good chance of doing well in the UK charts tbh.

In fact...all of the album only ones seem to be the ones that would make the top 40 in the UK. :wacko: Azerbaijan, Belgium, Germany, France, Norway, Romania and Sweden. Spain are too but they're not likely to garner much interest here I guess.

Wouldn't surprise me if the BBC had paid all the download sites or something to make them album only so they don't have to play them on their chart show. :drama: Watch Iceland disappear next!

It's the most ridiculous method possible of trying to promote people to buy the album, making the popular tracks album only :wacko: It just promotes illegal downloading...

Belgium, France, Norway, Romania and Sweden (and Spain) are all available as separate singles on iTunes, so no problem there. Only Germany and Azerbaijan will suffer by the looks of it :(

Haha at the BBC conspiracy theory! Wouldn't shock me in the slightest, they must have been gobsmacked to have to play Fairytale TWICE in its two top 40 weeks last year :lol:

Did they have to play it twice? I would've thought as a low top 40 track in its second week they could've easily skipped over it...

Maybe they did, I don't remember. Having to play it the once would have been taxing enough. What I don't get is why Eurovision is on the BBC, who also pick the entry, yet they refuse to ever promote it or play it, let alone anybody else's entries. Same with Danielle Hope - Over The Rainbow, a single release from somebody who won one of their OWN shows. Have they never heard of cross promotion, it works wonders!?!

Safura might have been removed incase they are planning to release it as a single after the contest. I know a physical release is planned for Germany, so they might release it as a download single soon after the contest here?
Hera is 186 now :o Can't make up my mind rather I like it or not :wacko: It's soooo Eurovision :lol:

Is it :o where did you hear that? Hope it gets full promotion too!

It's on amazon.de. She's also releasing an album there in June :o . They must be very confident of a win.

Huh? The album and single have been out in Germany for a while physically. I thought you meant the single/album were getting a UK release!

edit: sorry you were talking about Safura :lol:

I meant where did you hear Lena was getting a UK physical release?

I didn't say anything about a Lena physical release :unsure: . That would be great though, maybe they'll release that as a download single after the contest?

It was the statement 'I know a physical release is planned for Germany', which led me to think you were talking about the German entry having a UK release :lol: :(

Anything less than top 3 will be shameful for Azerbaijan considering the money and hype they've pumped into Safura and her campaign! last month I could barely browse BuzzJack or Google for more than 5 minutes before coming across an advert for her :lol: I'm looking forward to her album - of the three ESC entrant albums I've bought so far this year they rank as follows;

Anna Bergendahl>>>>Tom Dice>>>>>>>>>>>>>Lena Meyer-Landrut

Oh I see! I can see how you thought I was talking about Lena now :lol:, sorry.

Yeah it would be shameful, but hilarious at the same time. I really hope they get a naff spot in the draw, but knowing the luck the main favourites always get, she'll get position 17 :(

I don't think I'll bother with Safura's album. I'm looking forward to Hera's and Kuunkuiskaajat's if I ever get the order confirmation through for them!

Safura's rehearsals haven't been going all that well though...AKOE were blogging today and they aren't even sure she's going to qualify!

SEMI TWO

I think it's the following ten;

Turkey

Armenia

Sweden

Ireland

Georgia

Croatia

Romania

Then it gets tricky with three from Azerbaijan, Israel, Ukraine, Cyprus, Lithuania and Denmark and I'm reserving judgement on that for the moment.

AKOE are nothing short of ridiculous in their predictions. I would bet my life on Safura going through, save a massive screw up on her part.

Agreed. Even with a massive screw up on her part she's sailing through regardless - the backing track and diaspora alone would scrape 10th :lol:

Reading Keith's write up of her rehearsal though I'm really looking forward to see just how ridiculous it looks :o He said the same 'overblown' thing about Jade last year, calling her and Andrew smug, and then predicting 16th-20th for it, so I doubt Safura's too worried. I still reckon it will ease into the top 3 of the semi.

I doubt it'll be all THAT ridiculous. Jade's performance last year was pretty tame! I think Keith just doesn't like it when big names or big cash get brought into the the equation...

I don't understand why, does he want more budget rock-bottom dad rock or something? As long as the songs are good what does it matter, it's a song contest after all. Jade/ALW and Patricia Kaas brought a huge touch of class to the contest last year and I wish more big names would take part - it's already proven that they don't just win by default - finishing 5th and 8th last year respectively, so I don't get what the problem is. Anything that ups the quality and reputation of the contest is a good thing in my eyes.

Kuunkuiskaajat's album was released ages ago, i tried to find it online somehwere but couldn't, i don't think i will bother with it even though by having listened to the previews of tracks it sounds pretty good!

Azerbaijan will be like Russia and never DNQ. I would not be surprised at all if both countries have paid the juries significant amounts to ensure qualification and/or a decent backing in the final.
