Today was announced that France will be the hosting country for the Euro 2016, seeing off Turkey and Italy.

 

The host cities will be Paris, Saint-Denis, Strasbourg, Marseille, Lens, Saint Etienne, Toulouse, Nancy, Lyon, Lille, Bordeaux and Nice.

 

This will be the first Euro hosted by one country since Portugal 2004. France has previously hosted the 1938 and 1998 World Cups and the 1984 Euro Champs.

 

2016 will be the first European Football Championships with 24 teams

I am looking forward to seeing how they will manage the new style tournament.

Good decision, after 2 joint euro's, this should be better IMO.

I'm looking forward to Scotland actually getting to the finals again - surely with 24 teams qualifying they'll make it...if they don't get to 2012 or 2014 that is..........yes, I know, highly unlikely.
