Impressive start for England in the World Cup. Danni Wyatt Hodge hit her first century in a T20 world cup and Amy Jones hit a half century. Impressive bowling from Freya Kemp as she returns from injury.

Nat Sciver-Brunt has returned from injury lay-off and has had a mixed bag of form. Very rusty in the first warm up game and hit a half century in the second. During her absence, Charlie Dean deputised as captain and drew the ODI series 1-1. The second match was rained off. Also won both T20 series 2-1 (against New Zealand and India). After the T20 World Cup, there is a Test at Lord's against India.
  3. Lost in the play off semi-final after finishing 3rd. Unfortunately one of our players got sent off which didn't help our chances to put it politely!

Notes on the above Group Australia's side sees the first international tournament for Lucy Hamilton who has been impressive in the WBBL There is also the choice of captain for the Australians in that Molineux doesn't have the best injury record. South Africa has seen the return of both Dane Van Niekerk and Shabnim Ismail from retirement. Group 2 England Nat Sciver-Brunt (c), Charlie Dean, Lauren Bell, Alice Capsey, Tilly Corteen-Coleman, Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, Lauren Filer, Dani Gibson, Amy Jones, Freya Kemp, Heather Knight, Linsey Smith, Issy Wong, Danni Wyatt-Hodge. Notes on the above Group England are waiting on the fitness of Nat Sciver Brunt. Uncertainty over the batting line up with one T20 against India and a couple of warm up games to go. There is also the surprising lack of cover for Amy Jones. No specialist wicketkeeper in the squad. For New Zealand, there are the retirements of Suzie Bates, Sophie Devine and Lea Tahuhu after the tournament.
  5. Mark Hughes has left Carlisle United by mutual consent. Rob Elliot has since been appointed.
  6. Congratulations Rooney and many thanks Houdini for running this.
