Posted June 3, 201015 yr I actually think this deserves a proper thread. I'm actually disgusted by this. So horrid. I hate those Yank owners. Even though they want to "sell" you can tell that they don't want to. I feel it's only going to get worse for Liverpool before it gets better. Whoever gets the Liverpool job is quite obviosuly just going to be a yes man. Why do I have this awful awful feeling Kenny is going to become the manager. Just awful, absolutely awful. The people in charge of Liverpool are vermin. I don't think there's anyone in the club anymore (apart from the fans) who will oppose the owners.
June 3, 201015 yr The whole thing's a mess. If anything they're doing Rafa a favour as i've no doubt he'll go on to better things elsewhere, but at the same time the bloke's won more than half of his games in charge and picked up a few trophies along the way, even if last season was a complete write-off and a huge leap backwards from 08-09. Got a feeling Dalglish will be put in charge, even if it's only on a temporary basis until the owners can find themselves a yes man-ager.

Got a feeling Dalglish will be put in charge, even if it's only on a temporary basis until the owners can find themselves a yes man-ager. He's not won anything for four years though, they've been slowly going backwards since and 08-09 was more false hope than anything else. Yes it's not all his fault and the owners don't help, but it wasn't the owners who barely played Robbie Keane, then dropped him from even the bench as soon as he scored a couple of goals, then decided the next 18 months that he didn't need replacing and the one incredibly injury prone striker was enough. They didn't sign average or worse players like Dossena, Degen, Riera, Voronin, Aurelio and Babel whilst other clubs bought better players in similar positions for less. They didn't rant about facts which was always going to backfire, they didn't play 6 defensive players at home to Stoke, they didn't 'guarentee' that they'd bring 4th place this season. Has he been treated well? No. Is he blameless? No. Should he go? Yes, best for a fresh start for both parties.
June 3, 201015 yr Where in my post did I say he was blameless? He's made some woeful decisions in his time at Liverpool, there's no denying that. But it doesn't make the bloke a bad manager. Hence why he's wanted by the likes of Inter Milan.

The very fact he is almost certainly going to be installed as the new Inter Milan boss should tell you how highly regarded he is internationally as a manager. The bottom line was that his net expenditure was minimal compared to Man City; Spurs; & Chelsea. Little wonder Liverpool are going backwards as they were bought with Bank Loans which debt the club has to pay off to the rate of £40m+ a year. Add to that the audit of the club recently showed that those two robbing Yanks have take out an additional £75m from the club (for their own use to refinance their US Sporting clubs), and it is clear that Rafa's has had as much chance as succeeding as one hand trying to clap. I'm very sad to Rafa is gone, because he was doing a fantastic job restructuring the near non existence LFC Academy. Euro U-17 winners Andre Wisdom & Connor Coady are the future Jamie Carragher & Stevie G. Whilst Liverpool's current Youth Academy possess a further 19 U16 & U17 internationals a far cry from the recent Stevie Heighway days. So the future that Rafa was putting together was looking very good indeed. I just hope King Kenny hangs around whilst we try to get Guus Hiddink (but we'll probably end up with Mark Hughes; Martin O'Neill or Roy Hodgson ... if we are lucky) as manager. Unless the thieving Yanks go in the summer, and Liverpool are bought up by a billionaire Middle East franchise or an offshoot of the Chinese Government then I it will be a massive achievement for Liverpool to qualify for the UEFA Cup at the end of 2010-11. I fully expect Stevie G & Fernando to be sold in the summer, so Liverpool are screwed. If their are any Manchester United fans gloating .... Remember your club is next for the sharp decline. Because SAF will be able to spend just as much after they sell Wayne Rooney for £90 million as they have since selling C. Ronaldo.
June 3, 201015 yr Where in my post did I say he was blameless? Only the bit about them not winning anything for four years was really a reply, the rest was my take on it tbh.

That's why it's time for him to go really. He might be a good manager who's highly regarded, he's just not done much in recent times to have proved that. He took Liverpool as far as he could, he won them the Champions League and took them to another final. If that Rafa turns up at Inter they'll continue the run of league titles. If the Rafa who turns up is the one who's made questionable tactical decisions, signings and media interviews in the last 2-3 years then rivals AC will surely be laughing.

The previous boss of InterMilan prior to Jose has hardly covered himself in glory in England despite winning 3 league titles in Italy, Inter only won the CL this year because they have the greatest football manager there has been since Bill Shankly Benitez is to me a competent manager and he will win titles in Italy but he is Roberto Mancini level not Mourinho level The septics are money grabbing c**ts without a doubt but Rafa totally lost the plot in the last couple of years with some of his purchases They better not go for Harry
June 3, 201015 yr Can't say I'm surprised he's left - what annoys me is how every day Liverpool seem to be in the media - Gerrard is leaving, Torres is leaving, Torres stays if Rafa goes, players wanted Benitez out, Reina wants him to stay ... the political machinations at Anfield seems more exciting (and confusing) than your average British soap opera. What fascinates me is (seemingly to me) that Rafa's greatest strength - he was detached from his team, had no favourites - became his greatest weakness - he was cold, players needed an arm around their shoulder and encoragement. I'm not saying this is - ahem - 'fact' just my opinion. I would like Kenny Dalglish to be interim manager - he would unite fans, possibly inspire the players, lift the doom and gloom from around the club. Longer term, I would like Martin O'Neill. I hope Rafa does well in Inter - Inter versus Real in the Champions League final 2011, anyone??

O Neill would never go there under the current regime, out of all the managers in the premiership he is probably the most stubborn in terms of doing things his way, the yanks so much as pass wind in his direction he would walk, there is no way O Neill would tolerate the slightest bit of interference

June 3, 201015 yr Author If Liverpool get O'Neill then i'd be livid. I can't respect the guy after the Barry saga. Kenny as well... I really hope his reputation isn't tarnished. Liverpool need the right manager, and someone who'll be willing to rise against the owners. I do fear we're going to get some manager who wants a shot at the big time, and not a world class manager, which is really what we need. Sad, sad times for Liverpool. Like TiP said earlier, our youth structure is really good now, after being quite frankly abysmal. Pacheo, Dalla Valle, Wisdom, Coady, Robinson they're all players who will hopefully make the step-up in due course. We even bought Shelvey. I guess it depends who we bring as manager before players start leaving. I could honestly see Torres leaving though, and the only club I could see him going to is Chelsea. That cock of an interim chairman definitely has conflicting interests. It's sad sad days for football in general.
June 4, 201015 yr If Liverpool get O'Neill then i'd be livid. I can't respect the guy after the Barry saga. Kenny as well... I really hope his reputation isn't tarnished. Agree on both points. It annoys me when Rafa gets trashed in the media & by other football fans for losing Alonso. After all who would not want to join the club they supported as a kid; and all Liverpool fans knew Alonso was going in his last season, but we were not worried (at the time) because we knew we were going to get Gareth Barry as a replacement. But then after Liverpool had met the asking the price; "Father" O'Neill went and bloody raised at, to stitch Liverpool right up to get in the Manchester United faithful's good books.. as most football fans know that O'Neill coveats the job at Old Trafford after SAF.
June 5, 201015 yr Author I think O'Neill is highly overrated personally. I think he's a good manager don't get me wrong, but I don't think he'll ever do a truly great one. I really hope Liverpool don't appoint him, it would be so hard for me to respect him. You can tell the owners are complete muppets. No repacement lined up. But this sort of makes me think Rafa probably wanted out as well. The more I think about it, perhaps we don't know as much about the whole situation in the club as we think. Kenny is the biggest playing legend of them all, and I highly doubt he would be facilitating in the sacking of Rafa and looking for a new coach if he didn't think it was for the good of the club. It's possible Rafa's approach to the whole ownership situation was probably a bad way to go about it and it probably did cause a lot of unrest. The people in charge of the club and everyone they've all brought in are clueless idiots, but I guess it's possibe the 'ownership transition' (which i'm not even sure is going to happen, I have a feeling it was all just a plot to impres the banks!) might run more smoothly now that he's gone. Saying that some of the names being touted about are depressing. MARK HUGHES :manson: Hodgson would not be a bad shout idk.

Liverpool forums reckon that Harry is heavily in the flame, utterly ridiculous claim 1) Spurs are cash rich Liverpool are up to their eyeballs in debt 2) Spurs are in the CL and Liverpool ain't 3) Overall Spurs have a much better squad bar Torres, Gerrard and a couple of others 4) Harry lives on south coast and refuses to move, he would have to leave his house at 3am to get to training 5) Harry is employed by The Sun, Liverpool fans would love that  Edited June 6, 201015 yr by I ❤ JustinBieber

I can't think of a single positive for Harry in taking the job Liverpool with their financial crisis would leave Harry with little to spend, we are in the Top 10 cash rich clubs in Europe, we have a stable board whereas Liverpool is run by 2 spivs who's heart is not in the club The Liverpool now is not the Liverpool of the Shankly/Paisley days it is a big name only, bit like Williams F1 lives on name only these days Harry would be mad to take the job he is onto a good thing at Spurs, can't see why he would take a backwards step
