I know it's the exact tune of a Eurovision song, but you can find lyrics http://www.magistrix.de/lyrics/Uwu%20Lena/...nd-1080444.html, and after translating the first verse & chorus using Google translate, the lyrics are different. Would it be allowed? Also, Lena is already being sent this edition, but in case you can't tell, it isn't Lena in the video, it's a man dressed as her :P

We don't really get those kinds of tracks anymore though - I see this in much the same vein as Good Times. Except this is inexcusable as it's very, very clear that this is going to be released in the very near future and become an obvious worldwide smash hit.

 

I expect it would have been a prime contender for next month's banlist had Aaron not been sending it but it strikes me as the sort of thing some people *could* avoid voting for/mark down. The really big international superstar names rarely do well in BJSC, Lady GaGa nearly always flops if sent these days, Leona always flops etc...It's a guaranteed top ten, probable top 5 and possible winner, but I doubt everyone's heard it. I avoided listening to it for a while just because I despise Eminem.

 

Or me :wub: I'd love a win, although it's not gonna happen ha. But again, as long as someone has discovered this through this contest and loved it I won't complain :wub:

 

But yeah. I don't think Aaron's that guaranteed to win tbh. (Although I certainly wouldn't mind it :heart:) People could possibly think it's just 'Airplanes' Part 3.

 

That's the vibe I was getting from it. I think 2nd-5th for it, but Self Machine is the one to watch, indie/pop, about to smash, Radio 1 championed, respectable, catchy, very good and well produced song. Screams winner in my opinion - on a lesser scale to Hollywood but it's that sort of vibe that I'm getting - it's more mainstream sounding than Caesar in my opinion, even if that did feature Robyn. It has a proper pop chorus.

 

Anyway....I'll be back tomorrow afternoon to close this, so the 8 remaining countries have until 1pm tomorrow to confirm, I'm not going to bother sending out PM's, you know who you are :P

I'd love to see a complete unknown song and/or artist win this month just because it would be more fun for me as a host rather than revealing the latest Radio 1 playlist smash win yet again but I appreciate it doesn't happen very often, so maybe I'll just fiddle with the results to make the final outcome more acceptable to me.

Glad you like, I love Ellie's demo, and love Lena's album version but couldn't decide which was better - but I prefer the duet version to either, it has more oomph in the chorus :wub: I'm justifying it to myself by the fact that it's a song contest and I'm certain that nobody else will have heard this duet beforehand, so it's a discovery, even if the artists are cheap :lol:

 

Yes I agree, although I can tolerate Lose Yourself, Like Toy Soliders and Mockingbird as well. Other than that though, no thanks, I usually despise the guy, and after getting B.o.B's album and Zech raving over his version of Airplanes - it's truly abysmal, I'll stick to the original just with Hayley thanks :lol: I wouldn't mind Rihanna doing a Love The Way You Like Part II [broken Down] with this, and making her own verses along with the current chorus - I reckon it could be a huge smash for her, although this duet will undoubtedly be massive anyway.

This is what I was wondering too, because I hadn't seen many comments in the Eminem thread OR in the Rihanna thread. I checked both before my confirmation and decided it didn't seem to be that widely discussed. I reckon it'll be like "Airplanes" too, the established Eminem/Rihanna fans will probably be outweighed by people who disapprove.

 

Anyway, my other options were Janelle (who'd been a bit tossed around and I can't find anything I like enough on the album) and a song Tyron sent me. (that I also didn't like enough) I suppose that shouldn't mean I had to go with this, but I'd have rather gone with this than resorting to raiding the Bev section and finishing 43rd. (and the fact I'm writing this post now means I won't be up by 1pm to look for something :lol:)

For you, Pavel, I think Crystal Castles would be introduced to more people, and they're certainly rather edgy - and I think that's definetly what you're about in BJSC. Saying that it got 2 banlist noms last contest (I think), quite a few people will have heard it.

It's a beautiful song, I've entered it in VESC too but it's the only song I feel passionate about at the moment....I held out on it because I thought it wasn't "BJSC" but I honestly don't care right now.
