Hardly different from Mary, though (Tom Jones, Lady Gaga). If Cher can do a song without making it sound the same every week (ie. R&B) then I'll be surprised. Both are very good in their own rights, but Mary needs to prove she can do an upbeat number, and Cher needs to prove she can do something other than "wigga" R&B.

I don't see how Viva La Vida is anything but different? The thing is she's gonna be an R&B singer if she wins, so what's wrong with singing R&B now? She's certainly not a one-trick pony though.

She is different but she is not credible as a white person trying to be a rapper/r+b artist, she was way aggressive with her singing tonight, can just imagine her singing songs about knife crime and cop killing when infact she has never left her suburban Malvern home till X Factor and just has a white middle class upringing, she is as ghetto as David Cameron is.

She needs to move away from all this wanabee gangsta stuff

I don't really like Tom Richards....something about him just doesn't sit right with me. :/

It was an R&B version, that's my point. She can sing every song in the world, but it takes a certain person to make each song sound different. Singing different songs but making them sound the same as the one before doesn't make you versatile.

I admire Cher for trying something a little different and I still think she's got what it takes. Chloe was just dreadful ... I don't understand anyone on here thinking she has a good voice ... she's just about average with a shocking attitude and she couldn't even be arsed learning the words to a song ... mind you ... she probably can't read.

I liked that last bloke who was on - the one who sang 'the first time ever ... etc, etc'.

Looking at Chloe's performance....I think she definitely has a vocal limit and she went over that limit in places. A bit hard to listen to....she does have a good voice but she doesn't really know her limits.

Olly II was alright at the end, better than Olly but just the same Essex accent, hat, cheeky chappy attitude made him come across as an Olly clone, I don't understand him trying to get sympathy over a "girls song" though, to the best of my knowledge both Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson have covered it.

Chloe was hideous with Wishing On A Star but good with If I Was A Boy

I still predict that Cher will go down with an unfortunate throat infection at some point that makes her miss an episode in the series, probably a week where she would have been an absolute train wreck vocally ;)

He probably had the apparel of Olly but his voice was far better ... I found him a lot more attractive too!

Yeah he did sing way better than Olly tbh, one of the better performances of the night

Cher was brilliant tonight- shes so unique and different and I would never have guessed that was Coldplay!

one trick pony? Viva La Vida and Turn My Swag On are totally different!

I really like Matt as well, Chloe was awful and I really want her to go, I hate her :(

oh and I hate how they were all oversinging Creep- it just doesnt need to be changed in any way <_<

Chloe :( this is hideously out of tune

I don't know why this girl is in the comp still, she has one big attitude problem

She sung both ghetto style, that is what I meant, she is a one trick pony in the sense that she tries to be all gangsta whatever she sings, embarrassing for a middle class white girl

true, but she turned a rock song into something different and at least she stands out from the crowd, although yes, if she constantly does this then it would get boring but hopefully she can be more different

Just seen nothing special in her in this series at all tbh, she is "different" and "fresh" but so was Diana Vickers but difference being Diana gave 2 of the best performances I have ever seen in X Factor (Man In The Mirror / Call Me) so she had the talent and vocals to back up her different style but I just don't see it in Cher

Maybe she will convince me in the end but I have seen nothing so far other than just another white girl that thinks she is black, time will tell

I actually thought Diana's Call Me was dreadful. In fact ... I detested most of the stuff she sang the whole way through the series. However ... I really like the stuff she's recently released.

Loved Call Me  but yeah gotta say I am impressed with Diana as a solo artist, but she is credible even though she was "different"

Cher doing an album of ghetto music and gangsta rap and so on would be as credible as Justin Bieber singing death metal
