June 13, 201015 yr Can I just add, too - my votes, from 1 to 10 are given for the COVERS and on their merit alone. I'm not sure others here are actually voting on the covers...... it does seem more like a personality contest round here these days, especially these past 2 weeks where, my work aside, many of the really well made and lovely covers are overlooked for 'friends' covers. Very sad......

Very sad...... I agree, every week I vote on what covers I like the most and not just ones that are perceived good due to how technical they look. I don't see the point in voting for your friends covers I mean what's the point it's a game ffs. Another problem is some people tend to vote for their favourite artist as well.

MrLovett's cover was amazing though! So I think that one's justified for Rob. I don't think Rob does do it, we're really good friends and judging by how well I do every week he could've easily given me 10's over and over but he's honest lyk dat.

June 13, 201015 yr Author Maybe we should make people give reasons for why they voted for a cover, what they like/dislike about them, that way we can inspect votes and it'll b nice for designers to see where they can improve.

(ie) 15 covers submitted: then 15pts for fav, 1pt for least? then every cover gets a vote? :rolleyes:

June 13, 201015 yr When I vote, I always forget the name of the ones who made their work. :D Of course there are exceptions, few artists like Russ, Notso or Lewis mark their own style on each cover they make. I agree with Steve, only few non-designers don't play the rules and I also noticed that few members only vote for their favorite artist. I guess the best way to stop it is to have only one theme to work about per week (as it was the case at the beginning of the competition many years ago). In this case, only people who want to vote for "the design" and nothing else will vote. :) Edited June 13, 201015 yr by djcharly

June 13, 201015 yr Good idea but that doesn't really eliminate the problems. true, combined though with the reasoning? to be fair on a busy week it's really difficult to pick 10... sometimes it's a shame people don't choose more variety of artists...maybe, if theres multiples of the same artist then only two should be voted into the final "comp"? by the previous weeks winner?
