It seems a fair few Buzzjackers prefer Shakira's song. It's definitely the more popular song across Europe. I still can't fathom out how K'naan (as much I love the song) is no. 1 in the Billboard European Top 100 when Shakira is higher in the vast majority of countries.

Liking(ish) these:

 

'Dancing On My Own' is great but for me it's not on par with 'WEH' or even 'Be Mine' which got to no. 3 for me - albeit taking advantage of a quiet January 2008. Who knows, Robyn might make up for some lost ground and stick around for a second week inside the top 10. As for Example, 'Kickstarts' couldn't quite match the #10 peaks of 'WTSCU' and 'WGQ'. I doubt Example will climb. I do like the track but I find I get boted of it fairly quickly.

Best comeback single since 'CGYOOMH' without a shadow of a doubt. I never liked 'Slow' and thought it was an appauling song full stop - the video didn't help either. '2 Hearts' was a bit lukewarm - had potential but just didn't appeal to me.

Actually this is Robyn's 5th top 10 single for me; 'With Every Heartbeat' (no. 1), 'Be Mine' (no. 3), 'Who's That Girl?' (no. 4) and 'Handle Me' (no. 8). Then there was I Blame Coco feat. Robyn 'Caesar' which peaked at #4 earlier this year. So technically this is Robyn's sixth top 10 single for me.

Well the Europeans certainly their Stromae. It was a grower that became an anthem for me and has been one of my most listened to songs of 2010 - the French language adds that je ne sais qui or ooh la la. I just imagine listening to this in English now as I'm so used to this version.

Fyfe's second top 20 single for me although has easily been his most successful for me even if it is a cover. Blame John Lewis' advert. I adore Fyfe's version of this song. It just seems to have a more raw demo-like sound about this version.

Really? :lol: I thought it was an instant hit and was gobsmacked when Scouting For Girls ended no. 1 with what isn't exactly a signature tune. I said all along that it sounded like the type of song they would use for World Cup coverage when England are eventually knocked out of the contest (it will happen even if they qualify for the final 16 :( ). 'She Said', on the other hand, is just classic brilliance imo. Even the rapping doesn't put me off. Not sure about new single 'Prayin' though. Heard it a couple of times but I'm still not sold on that song yet.

It's all about 'The Cave'. By far my fave Mumford & Sond track. You can't mistake their sound and style and I predicted they will win this years Mercury Music Prize.

Everyone's thought that about this song. I like it but, as I posted above, it sounds like a cross between 'Love Don't Let Me Go' and 'Boom Boom Pow'. The worst part of the song is when Fergie sings "people in the place..." as that's directly taken from 'BBP' but that aside it's alright.

I will admit I've gone off this a lot quicker than I thought I would. Still interesting to see Keane working with artists such as K'naan showing signs of real diversity. Still not heard their latest album though so haven't a clue what it's like overall.

It's their only hit in my chart to date but I do like this alot. They also did well to spend four weeks climbing to their peak before a load of new entries pushed them down the following week. :lol:

It's just unfortunate for Kylie that when she does release an excellent song there's another song I like even more that keeps Kylie in second place. Actually Kylie has now scored three no. 2 hits in my chart. The others were 'I Believe In You' (kept off no. 1 by Gwen Stefani 'What You Waiting For?') and 'The One (Freemasons Remix)' (kept off no. 1 by Kid Rock 'All Summer Long').

Yes, there are similarities there but I really like this song loads.

Oh, I completely forgot about 'The Girl And The Robot' which made no. 3 in my chart. So that's seven tracks Robyn has techically scored in my top 10.

The electro high pitched synth melody in the introduction is excellent but overall I find myself get a little bored when listening to this. I don't rate Example as an excellent singer to be honest but it's a shame as he's the voice behind three great tracks.

It's ok - good enough to make my top 40 anyways but is looking almost certain to leave the chart next week. Radio 1 support - or lack of - means absolutely nothing. I like it when great tracks snubbed by Radio 1 make the UK top 10. It's all about Radio 2 anyways, and it has been for a couple of years to be honest. Not that I listen to much radio but when I do it's either Radio 2, Galaxy 102 or Xfm depending on my mood.
