Why does everyone assume that JLS being #1 is inevitable? Virtually no-one here seems to like it, for a start...

 

I thought Kylie being #1 was inevitable, yet was proven wrong. :cry:

 

1) I doubt they will do a Leona.

 

2) They have a pretty big fanbase.

 

3) TCIA has minor competition.

 

4) TCIA isn't on an album already available.

 

5) Virtually no one here seems to like many number ones. :lol:

#2 & certainly applies to Kylie too - you only had to hear the rapturous reception she got on the Jonathan Ross show, to know that! :)

As for #5, how well an urban track seems to do in the charts, seems to be inversely proportional to its reception here. :rolleyes:

 

Therefore, perhaps if we all claimed to love such tracks, then they'd crash & burn in the charts... ;)

I really hope not....saying that 2010 is easily the worst year ever for #1s.

Enrique is probably at about #70 for today's iTunes so far.

Beat Again has sold 500k+ Everybody In Love & One Shot 300k+ Album 1.2 million

I doubt anyone on here as ever liked any JLS singles/their album.. so judging by their sales its obvious Buzzjack is not representative of the public

The point that many people here don't like JLS or their new single is irrelevant, the charts are based on what people buy and it doesn't make a blind bit of difference if a few dozen people in the country don't like the song, if 1 in 600 people buy it, it's pretty much guaranteed #1. Fact is that the demographic of this forum has far more Kylie fans than JLS fans proporionate to the number that there are in the whole country. Just looking at the two acts' recent chart history basically confirms that one is far more certain of a #1 than the other.
