01. Color Me Badd - I Wanna Sex You Up - Ewwwwwww :puke2: None of them were handsome in the slightest and this is such an awful song.

02. Jason Donovan - Any Dream Will Do - Meh.

03. Amy Grant - Baby Baby - Very catchy and a nice summery song :)

04. Cher - The Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss) - Great cover

05. Kenny Thomas - Thinking About Your Love - OK-Ish soul ballad.

06. Salt-N-Pepa - Do You Want Me - Typical early 90s hip-hop/dance number. Never go wrong with these girls.

07. Bette Midler - From A Distance - Pleasent ballad

08. Beverley Craven - Promise Me - Gorgeous song, gorgeous voice. 19 years on it is still a work of art

09. REM - Shiny Happy People - Decentish - this group has had better songs.

10. Sonia - Only Fools (Never Fall In Love) - Very grown up song from her. Catchy and I like this.

11. The Doors - Light My Fire {1991} - This was banned from a relative of my Mum's house as she didnt like this song. Classic anyway

12. Rod Stewart - Motown Song - OK.

13. Divinyls - I Touch Myself - Classic, though I had no idea what she was on about until I got older :o

14. Lenny Kravitz - It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over - Not bad

16. Madonna - Holiday {1991} - Madonna's nursery rhyme up for re-release. Not fond of this.

17. Crystal Waters - Gypsy Woman (La Da Dee) - I always thought it was "She is homeless". Decent if insane.

18. Kylie Minogue - Shocked - Grown up Kylie song, underrated.

19. Extreme - Get The Funk Out - A favourite at parties my Dad would host. Good rock tune :)

22. Paula Abdul - Rush Rush - Pleasent ballad. Was this from a movie?

24. Kirsty MacColl - Walking Down Madison - Very modern for the time. I like this :)

26. Cathy Dennis - Touch Me (All Night Long) - Classic :cheer:

28. Technotronic - Move That Body - Not that great from the infamous mimers.

SELECTED OTHERS

45. Dannii Minogue - Success - Decent.

53. Meat Loaf - Dead Ringer For Love {1991} - Classic.

54. Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Sailing On The Seven Seas - Another Classic.

57. T'Pau - Whenever You Need Me - I quite like this. Very underrated

One of my signature years, but not an epic chart. Shame the top 10 is pretty much all rubbish - even REM which I loved at the time but now find a little grating. Interestingly I heard Rod Stewart's Motown Song for the first time in 19 years yesterday in the Co-op. Stupid record but it put a smile on my face. I also heard 'Sailing on the Seven Seas' the other week and couldn't believe I used to really like it.

I still like...

15. LaTour - People Are Still Having Sex

It was always a stupid record, but there's something rather good about it still to this day.

20. Rebel MC Featuring Tenor Fly And Barrington Levy - Tribal Base

This record is / was / always will be fantastic. Rebel MC was best known for the somewhat cartoony Street Tuff two years earlier, but by this time he'd teamed up with leading ragga artists and was producing some brilliant dance music. This one sampled Enya's 'Orinoco Flow' very subtley and is still a regular on my turntable in 2010.

25. Massive Attack - Safe From Harm

Brilliant record from what was one of the albums of the year.

26. Cathy Dennis - Touch Me (All Night Long)

Ahem, I like(d) the video.

32. Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine - Sheriff Fatman

One of my favourite records of all-time, not sure if it was on its way up or down the chart at this point but I can remember being astounded when I heard this. I'd known of Carter for a year previously (since 'Rubbish' was out) but I'd never got them until this point. They went on to be my favourite ever band.

33. Cubic 22 - Night In Motion

Great dance record which, I think, came out of Japan...if not then it was made to look as though it did.

38. KLF Featuring The Children Of The Revolution - Last Train To Trancentral

I loved everything the KLF ever did, even if the single mix of this has dated incredibly badly. It's no 'What Time is Love?' but its still massively enjoyable.

40. Primal Scream - Higher than The Sun

Fairly superfluous release of one of the highlights from Screamadelica. Although I seem to recall there were some choice remixes about.

13. Divinyls - I Touch Myself - Classic, though I had no idea what she was on about until I got older :o

Me neither! :teresa:

hmmm...not many here i like

01. Color Me Badd - I Wanna Sex You Up :puke2: hated it then, hate it now

02. Jason Donovan - Any Dream Will Do :puke2: ditto

03. Amy Grant - Baby Baby ....not bad

04. Cher - The Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss)

05. Kenny Thomas - Thinking About Your Love

08. Beverley Craven - Promise Me

09. REM - Shiny Happy People

10. Sonia - Only Fools (Never Fall In Love)

11. The Doors - Light My Fire {1991}

13. Divinyls - I Touch Myself

14. Lenny Kravitz - It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over

16. Madonna - Holiday {1991}

17. Crystal Waters - Gypsy Woman (La Da Dee)

18. Kylie Minogue - Shocked

21. Pet Shop Boys - Jealousy

22. Paula Abdul - Rush Rush

24. Kirsty MacColl - Walking Down Madison  best song in this chart

25. Massive Attack - Safe From Harm

26. Cathy Dennis - Touch Me (All Night Long)

29. Omar - There's Nothing Like This {1991}

30. Soft Cell Featuring Marc Almond - Tainted Love

quite poor really, only one song in there i'd choose to listen to

01. Color Me Badd - I Wanna Sex You Up Absolute piffle

02. Jason Donovan - Any Dream Will Do Good God!

03. Amy Grant - Baby Baby Ugh

04. Cher - The Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss) Pointless rehash

05. Kenny Thomas - Thinking About Your Love Remember really loathing this

06. Salt-N-Pepa - Do You Want Me Hardly their best is it?

07. Bette Midler - From A Distance Blandness personified

08. Beverley Craven - Promise Me Sorry Bette was out-blanded by this

09. REM - Shiny Happy People Most despicable pile of $h!te ever to be produced by Michael Stipe. I love REM but this is whiny toe-curdlingly awful

10. Sonia - Only Fools (Never Fall In Love) p*** off

11. The Doors - Light My Fire {1991} Obviously released to tie in with the bio-pic - classic

13. Divinyls - I Touch Myself Bit of a guilty pleasure this

14. Lenny Kravitz - It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over I like old Lenny. Bit obvious at times but his first two or three albums are good

32. Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine - Sheriff Fatman Great song

38. KLF Featuring The Children Of The Revolution - Last Train To Trancentral KLF were genius, JAMMs were genius.

40. Primal Scream - Higher than The Sun One of the best singles ever from one of the best albums ever. One of the best remixes was the Dub Symphony by The Orb

Aah yes, 1991. The year of the "Sex Megamix" me and my mate put together.

Colour Me Badd - I Wanna Sex You Up

Salt N' Pepa - Let's Talk About Sex

Right Said Fred - I'm Too Sexy

LaTour - People Are Still Having Sex

Nineteen years on and of those songs, I'd say Salt N' Pepa is the only song I'll listen to if it's on VH1-Classic. Any of the others and I'm likely to change the channel.

01. Color Me Badd - I Wanna Sex You Up Rather not, thanks...

02. Jason Donovan - Any Dream Will Do No, for the love of god, NO!

03. Amy Grant - Baby Baby Putrid crap!

04. Cher - The Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss) I really, really don't like Cher at the best of times but this is probably her worse!

05. Kenny Thomas - Thinking About Your Love Inoffensive British soul, passable.

06. Salt-N-Pepa - Do You Want Me Not their best...

07. Bette Midler - From A Distance Keep your distance

08. Beverley Craven - Promise Me One-hit wonderish...

09. REM - Shiny Happy People I absolutely hate this!

10. Sonia - Only Fools (Never Fall In Love) Oh I do have a weakness for the wee little scoucer, at the time she probably had the best voice out of the SAW fold. This was her first single post-PWL... isn't that terrible either!

And of the rest, I like:

14. Lenny Kravitz - It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over Don't like Lenny, but I bizarrely really like this.

16. Madonna - Holiday {1991} Why was this re-issued?

17. Crystal Waters - Gypsy Woman (La Da Dee)

18. Kylie Minogue - Shocked One of her best PWL era tracks!

21. Pet Shop Boys - Jealousy

24. Kirsty MacColl - Walking Down Madison Ah this is great!

25. Massive Attack - Safe From Harm Just sublime...

26. Cathy Dennis - Touch Me (All Night Long)

27. Driza Bone - Real Love

29. Omar - There's Nothing Like This {1991} Gorgeous!

30. Soft Cell Featuring Marc Almond - Tainted Love Still rate the original Gloria Jones version more33. Cubic 22 - Night In Motion

38. KLF Featuring The Children Of The Revolution - Last Train To Trancentral

40. Primal Scream - Higher than The Sun

The better tracks are found further down the charts, some proper great cult classics from Driza Bone and Omar. And of course some timeless house and dance classics.

This is a brilliant chart! Can't believe all you folks ignoring 'Get The Funk Out', give it a listen if you can, good rocking track with a great chorus. Also Skid Row - Monkey Business at 31! Sebastian Bach is awesome
05. Kenny Thomas - Thinking About Your Love

33. Cubic 22 - Night In Motion

36. PM Dawn - A Watcher's Point Of View

38. KLF Featuring The Children Of The Revolution - Last Train To Trancentral
