If it is a 48 hour chart then how JLS are falling already compared to Katy Perry? Of course there is a small possibility that Katy is gaining more than JLS but there is no reason for Katy to 'gain', she is just a consistent seller.

36h rolling chart is quite a good idea by the way. Did anyone write to iTunes support and ask about our issue?

Great to see Katy moving closer towards JLS! I think there is a slight possibility she could grab the #1 for a third week. ^_^

Would love her to BUT remember JLS have got Physicals which have been on pre-order for months and were sellign well months ago so in reality Katy has no chance.

Not just about whether it's 24/36/48/etc. hours, but there's other things aswell. If a pop-bar is twice the size of another bar, does it mean it's sold twice as much? It could be done on a logarithmic/exponential scale. Are the pop-bars weighted with time?

The issue of whether itunes is a 24/48 hour rolling chart has been debated on many forums for years, with some even speculating it's a 72 hour chart

The fact that 'The Wanted' took 48 hours to leave the chart supports it being 48 hours.

who is to say it's not a 36 hour rolling chart? It could be anything.

No, it's 48 hours.

The Wanted proved that even further than it had already been proven.

Depends what the download sales margins are later in the week.

After all, Kylie sold tons of physical copies last week, yet that didn't stop her being caught for 2nd...

I think My first Kiss will do brillaint. 99p in Hmv!! Many people will be like meh ill buy it

Yeah I second that - did anyone?

I'm maybe not getting the maths right (not having a good day) but the if we assume iTunes is a 48 hr chart, then the only way Katy could be gaining on JLS is if:-

Her sales for e.g. 2pm-4pm today > {her sales for 2pm-4pm Saturday + JLS's sales from 2pm-4pm today}

Assuming JLS are actually selling ok today (ok not brilliant but fairly well) and that Katy will sell more during the weekend than on a Monday (not an unreasonable assumption) then that means that Katy sold from 2pm-4pm today close to, or more than, double what she did at the equivalent time on Saturday.

Oh and I'm 99.999% sure that the iTunes pop bars are not weighted - they use a linear scale. All the calculations I've ever done suggest that's the case, from mid-week sales flashes through to Sunday charts.

Although, as someone else said, until we get confirmation from iTunes, still have to make it an assumption.

Looks like both 3OH!3 and Eliza Doolittle could go top 10 still - with Example and GaGa being knocked out.
Surprised by 30h!3 doing well. It's not a patch on 'Starstrukk' but nevermind. If anything, I'm hoping Eliza Doolittle gets another boost as 'Pack Up' is a great track that I'd like to see go top 10.

Katy is going up at a slow paste ^_^

My First Kiss for top 10 Please <3

I don't think Katy's song is anything great, but if it's the only thing that stands a chance of keeping that hideous song by JLS at bay then I'm rooting for it.
I wish All Night Long would go higher. Yesterday it was #21, then hanging around #24/#25 now #28/ :( I want it to outsell Parachute.

If there's any justice...pfft, there is no justice. I expect after this week JLS will plummet down the chart in a 'Dirtee Disco' stylee. -_- Another non no. 1 then.

**if 'The Club Is Alive' manages more than 4 weeks in the top 10 I will take back this comment. :P

Hey Taz. :D

Finally you made it on here. :P

It's had a great run and will climb for many weekends to come. The sure advert has been its saviour.

Has anyone else read the article about David Guetta wanting to collaborate with Leona Lewis? Now that would be interesting! :D
