Kylie MinogueMusicKylie Minogue has confessed that she has regrets over her last two albums.

The singer, whose new single 'All The Lovers' is currently battling for the top spot on the singles chart, admitted that she wishes her records Body Language and X had been more "cohesive".

She told Attitude: "I hate to have regret, because there was some amazing stuff on there, but there was a niggling voice in my head that just wished they could have been a little bit more cohesive.

"Hindsight can be a real b**ch. You go, 'God, I wish I'd been more clear-headed or thought of that or been more strong-willed', or whatever the case is."

However, she insisted that she feels differently about her new LP Aphrodite, claiming that the record is full of "goodness".

She explained: "I don't think I've ever felt this way about an album. I feel that just a lot of goodness has gone into it. It sounds like a cereal: 'Goodness'."

Aphrodite is released on July 5.

No, BL is pretty cohesive, it just doesn't have a killer track.

X has some killer tracks but it's not cohesive for the second half of the album.

I had known from before she wasnt fully happy with X but i didnt know about body language, although im not that big a fan of body language apart from chocolate and slow it was a more cohesive album than X. X for me however is the better album by far because X when its good its brilliant ie the one, like a drug, wow, in my arms etc but it also has a few bland tracks and its like a mixed bag.

It is indeed good that she can stand up and say that annd its good that she is 100% happy with the new album, i think with the new album there was a part of kylie that listened to what the fans wanted and what she wanted herself of course and although i havnt heard the album yet i have a feeling this album will be better than X and Body Language combined.

I'd say body language was pretty cohesive. Its a solid album and I like it. However, X is overall quite poor with only 3 or 4 really good songs on it and alot of the tracks werent upto her usual standard.
Body Language is ultra cohesive and has loads of highlights. I absolutely resent that so many of her fans think it's a crap album.

I actually think its the worst album of her career and the vocals are easily her worst too

I agree with her. I've made my thoughts on Body Language known before - love the three singles and Loving Days but that's it. I did love most of X, but it was more a collection of separate thoughts thrown together and didn't flow at all well making it quite an awkward listen if hearing it all in one go.

Compared to Light Years and Fever, both were a massive step down in quality for me personally.

BL is by no means her worst but it is not her best, there are some great songs on it such as Obsession and Chocolate.

sorry to sound dumb but what is cohesive?

Meaning that the album gels together well. Flicking from electro pop to disco pop and then over to a ballad, all in a seemingly random order is the opposite to what cohesive is, i.e. X

i see  thanks for that explanation. X, while a good album did not gel well together. Aphrodite seems to do this and i thought BL did too
I know its not very cohesive but X is prob my fav album with Parlophone

X is good but in my opinion doesnt come anywhere near light years of fever for that matter, light years to date is my favourite parlophone album and body language is my heast favourite parlophone album, for me kylie has never done what i would call a bad album but body language and km94 are the only 2 kylie albums i dont listen to that much at all apart from the singles.
She's right to pick these two out from her work post-2000 as the weaker albums. They're albums I enjoy but they don't reflect the quality of thought that usually goes into a Kylie album.
I guess every artist has an album or few songs they've done in the past they're not proud of, it's only natural that with every solid album/song there's going to be ones where they go "what was i thinking?" I can agree X was choppy but the songs that were good were amazing and Body Language sounded like she was trying to alter her sound to please the US after her succesful fever era, although i do love Red Blooded Woman, the sound wasn't as good as her past/present albums.

To me BL was really split. There were about six great songs and six less than average tracks that sounded like Fever-era b-sides. I still really like X though, it just wasn't the comeback album that was needed and expected at the time.

for me Body Language had 2 great songs, couple average tracks and the rest were terrible in my opinion

I'm surprised she says that about 'X'. I think it's her best album personally. There's so many incredible tracks on there, that still sound fantastic now. On the otherhand I can totally understand the misgivings about BL. I made the mistake of listening to it just to try it out and it was dreadful from start to finish. Even the singles were poor.

At least she's honest though :o

Body language lacks the usual kylie sparkle, i often think of body language as an experimental album that only 50% worked, i love slow and chocolate but the other tracks just dont really do it for me, its a shame an album like body language sold so so much more than impossible princess.
