I just feel there is no hype with this song anymore. It is honestly going to be lucky to go top 3 never mind number 1. The fact the video is taking so long is beyond a joke.

I knew Missing You was going top 3, The Saturdays have a huge first week fanbase.

 

The video has taken way too long even you can surely admit that.

Since when did hype ever guarantee chart success MIA, Diana Vickers, Kele have a great deal of hype but they are not lighting up the charts.The video is out three weeks before the release which is fine.As long as the song has radio support, the video channels jump on it and Alex has a fanbase willing to buy it of course she has another hit on her hands.

Once her promotion starts it always gets media, blog and YT hype for Alex so with Chatty Man, Magic Numbers and GMTV coming up, I am sure the same people will be complaining that she is everywhere.

I really don't like this song, and I agree there's little hype for it. I want it to flop but I think it'll go top ten. I'm a little bored with X Factor acts now.

I was meaning hype for songs along the lines of Nothin On You and Frisky. Start Without You would have been a hit if they had released it in the summer it is too late now.

Dont see this being that big of a hit, but i'm sure they have endless promotion planned :| but still dont think it'll sell over 400,000. I think at best 300,000 (due to the support its going to get and being shoved in our faces endlessly), which is still good but dont see it being huge like selling over half a mill.

Just because it's a different month and normally the end of the summer holidays, it doesn't mean it's the end of summer. And even if you thought that the end of summer is the end of the summer holidays, it still makes SWY a summer song as it's released on the last sunday. -_-

 

A "summer song" is normally determined by the weather - it's not always sunny on August 31st and then cloudy on September 1st.

Yes but it's released at the beginning of September, which is still summer. If it was released on 20th September, then I would agree with what you are saying but I just think it's silly to generalise. August 23rd is only 13 days before September 5th.

If you're going to have a proper good Summer single, it should be released early summer like June in the same way Cali girls was (june/jul). Lets face it, sept is late summer and the nights are getting very dark :(

Alex said Overcome would be re-released in October but I bet it will be re-released in November. They'd want it to tie in with XF and Joe would get the first week slot, Cheryl will probably get the second, Alex would probably get the fifth one - similar to Leona with 'Run' and 'Happy'.

Yeah i'm trying to think when it'll be released. Is cheryl doing a re-release still or is that not happening due to her being ill?

I'm sure Leona will have a re-release of echo so i'm wondering when will that be released, a month after alexandras? That would mean december, i guess thats a possibility but i think alex will be october and leona novemeber like last year. Maybe they'll have smaller gaps imbetween, say 2/3 weeks instead of 4. However cheryl and alex clashed last year anyway so may happen again as only a week gap.
