I'm actually really enjoying this album, one of the better pop releases of recent times methinks. Amazingly I'm even quite enjoying the ballads which really is a rarity.

I'm not familiar with the titles yet but if you mean the one towards the end that sounds like they could be releasing an X-Factor single then yes.
Silver Lining and Illuminated are the standouts for me... and these were the ones I heard first a few months back..... just brilliant. The Kylie track's a bit hmmmm though... one of the weaker songs I think.

I'm going to listen to this album tomorrow, i'm very much looking forward to it. ^_^

Wonderful Life

Stay's very Ryan Tedder, isn't it?!

It sounds like a long lost D:Ream track, brought back and polished for 2010. One of the album's highlights for me.

I take back my reservations about 'Devotion', the track with Kylie.... it's grown on me massively - and it's now one of my album highlights.

But the track that stands head and shoulders above the rest for me is 'Illuminated' - have we had a more glorious, soaring piece if pop music this year? Incredible.... and it really has to be a single, especially after being used in the Sky ads.

Lowpoint for me is 'Stay'..... definitely could have been left off, and 'Evelyn'.....

I've downloaded this album but I haven't listened. I've warmed to them more since I heard Illuminated.

I wonder what the next single could be :o

I actually wouldn't mind any of the songs from the album as next single.

Stay doesn't sound like a hit record though, I'm a bit disappointed. For me it was Illuminated or Sunday. Hope one or the other is single 4.
I don't like this album much. Musically it's not terrible but vocally and lyrically it's not great. The vocals are too close to boy band territory for me. Illuminated is the best track for me at the moment.
STAY?!!! :manson:

Worst track on the album for me. :(

I agree - a very, very poor choice for single - should definitely be Illuminated.

I hope they get to release a 4th single and that would be either Sunday or Illuminated.

Very poor album. I listened again and I keep getting a Simple Minds and East 17 cross-breed. Lyrically it's atrocious.

I don't really get the hype either. I mean it's at least half decent but why this is successful when other better pop acts struggle or need several singles to sell the album even a bit?

Marina & The Diamonds, Bat for Lashes, Frankmusik, Darwin Deez, Scissor Sisters (new album) spring to my mind.

Although it's nice to see a only men pop act being taken seriously.

After repeated listens it's obvious that every track on this album could easily be a single - even the schmaltzy Stay, which is the worst track here.

Just been announced that Hurts will support the Scissor Sisters on their forthcoming UK tour.
