I can tell you, the solution will be: we close this thread, and pinned you can find a thread with the chart, that will be updated daily twice and britster (hopefully) will post the pop bars frequently. Otherwise it remains closed for discussion, so everyone can bitch about their fave artists (or hated artists) in the genre forums ;)

This thread is just a headache for the mods :(

Ah, but maybe because you *let* it get to you - wouldn't chilling out & ignoring it be less stressful? :P

JLS have fallen quite a bit now. Sunday is going to be interesting!

Are JLS becoming the new McFly? :)

Actually JLS might fall even to #6 in iTunes by Sunday. About 30h ago they were #1 and now they are already nearing #4.

And yes, vidcapper, I had also some thoughts about them being the new McFly. Although I don't think that the chart-runs will be so sharp for them because of the top-10 effect, download era (which has slowened the charts quite a lot) etc.

Possibly but to a less extreme extent. I think they are far more current and commercial than McFly were. However, it's clear TCIA has only really "clicked" with their fanbase and a few casual music buyers. It had a really small lead on iTunes and has already fallen to #3.

But the thing is that the discussion won't translate into the genre forums. It will just die because this thread is something like a chat, 'general offtopic about everything' where we can discuss everything relevant at the moment: the iTunes chart entries, events, current and future songs etc. And there will be much lesser additional cumulative discussion in the separate threads if we close this thread just because of the synergy effect. IMO of course.

Chat that's the key word, in this thread there are a lot of bitching, spamming, fighting, arguing. I wouldn't call all these chat...

And there is a much more demand than updating the chart positions only twice a day. So there should be also many mini-updates for the new songs etc.

There is no sense to update the chart more than twice a day. Mini updates can be made also in the closed thread I just forgot to add to my post... don't worry. Nothing more is demanded ;)

Yes very true, but I can't ignore if I get twice a day a message (reported posts) in my inbox about the iTuens thread.

Plus I'm interested also in the mini updates, situation but it's very difficult to search back if there are a lot of pointless arguing to look back ;)

Tbh there's going to be occassions where personalities clash as people love/hate different artists. I guess we should not always repeat our views a lot though if they are so negative. :kink:

Anyway maybe we should change the topic back to iTunes. :D

I do not think the arguments are that many they do tend to escalate only when certain acts are charting but on the whole the itunes thread is the best.

Its such a shame that Train did not come over for any performances I am sure they could have gone Top 10.Very pleased tht Justines two songs are finally going in the right direction.I think JLS will probably be 4 on itunes come Sunday and 2 in the official chart.

Crikey JLS will be #4 very soon. Has it stopped selling? Really hoping 30H3 and Yolanda can climb up - love those songs
Do Charts still count the sales from Friday/Saturday?

UK charts are Sunday 00:00 - Saturday 23:59

JLS are down to #4...

Oh, britster has just posted this. JLS are slumping! #6 by midnight?

I don't think JLS are any less popular.. its just that this song has less wider appeal compared to the previous singles.. Surprised it is falling so soon though
oooh... Sunday's chart could be a whole lot interesting, the top 3 could change.
JLS are #5 actually when both 'We Speak No Americano' are combined :w00t:. So glad this is looking like a semi-flop for the boys, really should teach them to not release such $h!t
I still have a nagging feeling that all this will be too late to stop them from getting #1. Their sales were clearly very frontloaded at the start of the week. They may be just too far ahead :( Hopefully the Almost Saturday charts can let us know how close it is.
