Lead single is called 'The Catalyst' and is out August 2nd, tomorrow they are releasing parts of the track able to be remixed and added to etc, and from those they will pick what they consider the best and include on the album.

 

So yeah as the single is out August 2nd it can't be long until we can hear it.

 

 

I hope it's up to the standard of the stuff from Hybrid Theory and Meteora, most of what they released since then has pretty much sucked.

I liked quite a bit from the last album tbh 'Given Up', 'Bleed It Out' were tunes, obviously nothing on 'Meteora' though, the recent tracks like 'New Divide' are complete w*** though.

Shadow Of The Day has always been my favourite single of theirs.

 

I hope good things from this album.

MASSIVELY excited. Loved "Minutes", discovered the first two late and tbh after "Hybrid Theory" I never needed to listen toanother nu-metal album. *looks for leaks*

tbh im a bit gutted my lack of funds means im missing them at o2 arena this year, i have always wanted to see them live despite not listening to them that much the past few years, such an amazing live band though.

Their last album was fantastic! I agree not a patch on the previous two but it still had some solid tunes on it. 'Leave Out All The Rest' <3

sounds pretty cool, especially before the synth bit, i like how they were going an almost industrial type sound, reminded me of innerpartysystem, but when the guitars goes, the synth was just :s doesnt work for them.

not keen on the 'God bless us everyone bit...' but otherwise that sounded really cool, really did remind me of innerpartysystem though, but that is a really good thing.

hell yes. well i wouldnt say best ever, but i proper dig it, 'Dont Stop' f***ing blew my mind and actually did widen my music taste a bit.

Sounds like the same old same old to me.

 

I actually thought that this band once had potential. No longer sure why

Sounds f***ing good tbh, and really does sound like an innerpartysystem song.

That sounds like such an awful, dreadful song. What happened to ballsy Linkin Park? That clip makes them sound like every nerdy indie band there ever has been, wandering on stage with guitars and then playing with synthisisers.

 

I'm not suggesting LP should have stayed with the nu-metal sound forever, because that genres time has passed. But they had an option - they could either become harder, or softer. Disturbed and Slipknot chose the harder route, becoming heavier and more technical. Linkin Park have just sounded more and more wussy as the years have gone by, it's pathetic.

Don't mind The Catalyst actually, new album could be interesting. Hybrid Theory was one of the first albums I ever bought, so they'll always be somewhat special to me!

The Catalyst is alright, nowhere near their best :(
