I don't know quite what to make of it at the minute. I don't think I'm keen, though. Maybe it looks a bit too child-ish?

And was their really a need for them just to do that? How long had the old non-shiny logo been going for?

The first four songs and artists have been announced....one of them has got me particularly excited!!

Linda Bengtzing – ‘E De Fel På Mig’ (Thomas G:Son, Pontus Assarsson, Jörgen Ringqvist)

Lasse Stefanz – ’En Blick Och Nåt Händer’ (Alexander Bard, Ola Håkansson, Ola Norell)

Pernilla Andersson – ’Desperados’ (Pernilla Andersson)

Swingfly – ’Me and My Drum’ (Teron Beal, Patrik Magnusson, Johan Ramström)

Obviously the return of Linda Bengtzing combined with those songwriters has got me salivating (could this be her year??), but I'm also quite enthusiastic about the debut of singer-songwriter Pernilla Andersson, and intrigued about the songwriting return of Alexander Bard (intrigued, not excited!).

Pernilla! :o <3
I just realised it's another Pernilla. GUTTED.
It had me tricked too. I saw it on esctoday, and I was thinking "Isn't Pernilla also returning?", but it's a different one, not the one who had one of the best songs of MF 2010 :(
Fuck Pernilla... Linda Bengtzing :w00t:

Linda

Swingfly's a rapper with female singers on the chorus usually - sings Touch & Go and Swinging That Melody, the latter I believe got quite a few spins on Chart Show and other channels last year - both great songs

I listened to about 10 songs and they were all awful, so I'll give the rest a miss for now
When it gets down to the final ten or so I'll give them a listen. I am quite looking forward to the transformation when the songs get to the actual competition.

and Danny! :D

I wonder if Sanna can actually win this time - she won the public vote in 2008 but the juries wanted schalger naturally, so turned to Catwoman to deliver. Melody Club are another interesting choice there, bit different for MF, I really didn't expect to see them there :o

Danny, Sanna, Melody Club and Sara from A*Teens. Amazing  . MF 2011 looks set to be one of the best ever!

My views on the final 5 webjokers;

On My Own - very Jason Mraz/Colbie Caillat, I actually like this quite a bit, very summery and singalong, would be perfect for daytime radio. Could actually progress to the final or at least Andra Chansen after it's been polished up. 8.5/10

Tusen Nätter - punk rock sort of band but with some piano in it. It's not bad for the genre I guess but the melody could be stronger and this wouldn't make it out of it's semi. 5/10

Better Or Worse - Boring Tedder-esque ballad with some horribly dated production, which will obviously be scrubbed up if she wins but the singer's voice is drowned beneath the production and the melody's lacking. Bottom 3 in its semi. 5/10

I Wanna Be With You - Like a crap version of Sade's By Your Side with absolutely awful lyrics and bizarre ska/reggae production. Like Olly Murs meets UB40 but with a far inferior singer. Boring melody too. 8th in its semi if it made it. 3/10

Don't Stop - Like something Ashton would send to BJSC! It's like Ricki Lee's Can't Touch It in the verses crossed with Kate Ryan's Je T'adore in the chorus. J'adore, although it's insanely trashy! The English robotic speaking voice is a bit bizarre, sounds like that Pod thing from 'Snog, Marry, Avoid' 8/10

On My Own to win for the one with the most chance to make the final somehow, Don't Stop just for pure hilarity!

Amazed you don't like Better Or Worse :o The production is AMAZING. Agreed that Don't Stop is great though (and so Ashtonise, if it doesn't go through tonight I know what he's sending :kink:) Do like On My Own as well, in a Mrazy way :)

It sounds amateurish to me, like a Jordin Sparks demo. I've listened again and there's a melody fighting to get out but the production is too heavy and her voice is buried beneath it. I could see myself liking a scrubbed up version of it once the necessary work had been done. On My Own doesn't need a lot of work, it's an organic, simple, catchy and instant song which could have wide appeal. Don't Stop screams last place in the semi but it's great in an extraordinarily trashy way
