Eric Saade singing another song written by Fredrik Kempe? I'm more excited for that, as it will obviously be amazing, whereas RedOne may have done another 'Start Without You', but I hope not. A 'Bad Romance' or 'Poison' please :D

It certainly looks like Eric is the one to beat. Darin and Peter were the biggest names last year, but Eric Saade is very NOW and he's had a hugely successful year after Melodifestivalen last year.

I can see Love Generation only reaching Andra Chansen or worse, crashing out at the heat. It has potential to be horrendous vocally, and let's face it, RedOne isn't going to put a "Bad Romance" into Melodifestivalen is he? It will probably be a spare song he's had sitting around.

I'm inclined to feel the same way about Love Generation. The only thing on its side is the increased media hype that will surround the semi, but when they released their debut single, weren't there reports that the group were diabolical live? And girlbands don't traditionally do well in MF unless they bring something new to the table - e.g. Timoteij.

He's half-Swedish and has lived there for years, so I think he'll know how seriously it's all taken and send something good.

They've done some really good live performances - well, I SAY really good - they're just 'alright', but considering you'd expect them to be utterly dire...

Such a wonderful invitation for new artists! JOIN US BUT YOU WILL STILL NOT GET THE CLOSING NUMBER.

I think they'll just be pleased to have the chance of getting the career boost!
True. But still not exactly interesting and/or exciting in terms of fair competition. Probably the only thing i don't like about MF is how they decide the running order. :(

Linda Sundblad not even AC? :o

I think Love Generation could go AC, even though I reckon they'll come 2nd and DTG...

The winner takes it all!

Maybe, but the pure pop that she and the likes of Sibel and Elin Lanto are known for usually comes 7th in the semis :(

Love Generation's song had BETTER live up to the mass hype I've built for it in my head!

Well, looking at the songwriter list it has it's got quite a pedigree :o

On My Own was already catchy and well produced enough as it is to have a big impact imo, despite being a fairly simple song. I can only imagine that after its overhaul it will be a big contender to do well. I can't see Julia having the same sort of success though, I never thought the song was that special in the first place. I'm not saying that On My Own is 'special' but it's effective, and its simplicity is its charm. I've listened to it a lot since it won the webjoker competition.

But she finished 2nd after Jonas. I think this fact will have influence on results as well (not directly of course), plus she's in the strongest semi innit? However i believe we're yet to hear the final version so it may be amazing!

I'm not really following what you mean...why would the fact that she finished 2nd in the Webjoker help her prospects in the real semis? Surely Jonas has got by far the better chance to go through to the final having won the Webjoker and being in, as you say, what looks like an easier semi...

No, on the contrary, i think she has lesser chance to get through. The same with Jonas, only his chances are better. I guess I don't really believe in the power/advantage that winning Webjoker gives. But maybe i just judge by last year's results!
