European Top 100 singles SALES/DOWNLOAD chart is HERE (does not include airplay)

Published by Billboard

The chart is compiled by Music & Media and based on national singles sales/download charts of the following 19 European countries: Austria, Belgium (separately for Flanders and Wallonia), Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom.

Here are the videos for this week's 9 new entries

10 - Collectif Métissé ~ Debout Pour Danser

46 - Skepta ~ Rescue Me

59 - Chris Garcia ~ The Rhythm Of The Night -- (cover of the Corona 1994 #2 hit)

69 - Checker ~ Checker Der Vollstrecker -- (could this be 2010 summer hit?)

80 - Marco Calliari ~ We No Speak Americano

85 - Agnes & Björn ~ When You Tell The World You're Mine -- (Swedish Royal Wedding)

89 - Justin Bieber Feat. Usher ~ Somebody To Love

92 - Sarah Riani ~ Intouchable

100 - Culcha Candela ~ Somma Im Kiez

(if you think you've heard that guitar riff before it was taken from the Guess Who 1970 hit American Woman)

Thanks :D

I know you never get much feedback for this, but I think this is really great, I just wish that someone would do a radio show of this chart, you don't hear enough European music in the UK.

Thanks :D

I would LOVE a European chart show on the radio. I doubt it'd ever happen though. :( If it was on Radio 1, it would introduce so much more music to the UK.

That's true. I'm CONVINCED there was one in the mid 90s, not on R1 but on a commercial station. No-one seems to remember it though (I have a few things like that... like Mr Rossi )

The Billboard European 100 is interesting but I still think France are far too over represented in this chart.

K'naan is no. 1 with 'Wavin' Flag' but yet it's not gone to no. 1 in any country whilst Shakira 'Waka Waka' has been no. 1 in about 12 countries. So I can't understand why Shakira isn't doing better?

As for the chart in my sig, the HET30 is actually more of an international chart rather than a European chart purely because the HET30 includes Australia, New Zealand and Canada. I know that without these three charts, Shakira would actually be the HET30 no. 1 but certainly not K'naan.

Why would a European chart include Austalia, New Zealand and Canada. Just sayin'...

Blame MTV Europe for this. They used to publish the top 10 singles/albums for around 25 different countries. I got the idea of compiling all the data (a bit like the Buzzjack Multichart) using a points systems. The charts included Australia, New Zealand and Canada but I still decided to use them. It's stuck ever since and became its own feature of the Chart Clarity website in 2004.

There was one in the early 90s and it was on R1 on Wednesday evenings from 8.00pm to 10pm. They only played Top 20 though. I forget who presented it.

They wouldn't put a European chart show on now because the BBC are bias against European music in favour of the largely rubbish US stuff.
