I read on teletext today they will stay together for one year only, do the album, singles and tour and then take that will be a four piece and robbie will be his solo artists, the album if the material is good could potentially be a huge huge seller.

I actually read (on Rob's site) that his people are not commenting at all on this 'speculation' so its probably more 'will they / won't they' rubbish that everyone is getting tired of.

I hope it is not more will they wont they,i hope its a case of them just going ahead and doing it and then all returning to normal there after.

I believe this reunion will be massive.

Take That sold 2.7 million copies of Beautiful World in the UK alone (Worldwide 3.5 million). The Circus sold 2.2 million in the UK (Worldwide 2.7 million).

Add the Robbie fans in UK and worldwide and we are probably looking at sales for the Take That and Robbie album at about 3-4 million. It will be huge especially in the UK.

The tour will be massive as well. Take That already had the fastest selling tour in UK history last year. Now with Robbie on board they would be able to sell out stadiums across Europe as well.

I think its quite sad that two very successful acts are trying to get even more fame (and money) by combining. Sure the tour will be a success for those who are happy with whatever TT and Rob choose to do ... but in the eyes of the wider public ... they risk becoming one of the hugest laughing stocks ever. I'm not quite sure if TT realise that a lot of their success this time was precisely because Robbie Williams was NOT with them. Britain loves an underdog .... now we have two top dogs. Both acts will end up losing fans in the long run. If anything I suppose, Rob looks the biggest idiot as he said he'd NEVER rejoin them ... whereas TT have always said they'd love to have him back. TT come out of this with a bit more credit I suppose. Rob comes off as a bit of plonker ... and he will lose fans for sure.

I just hope they confine their tour to the UK as they'd be laughed out of town anywhere else.

*By the way ... I'm only adding posts in here to try and get us up to that elusive 25,000 posts mark - after this we're only about 15 away.

Wonder if this will happen. It seems to have been on the cards forever & come to nothing.

Well as I posted earlier ... a spokesman for Rob said that they wouldn't comment on these speculations. Having said that 'they' ... and TT's people are probably behind all the rumours to begin with. Any publicity is good publicity and while neither of them have anything in the charts at the moment ... it keeps them in the papers and the public eye. This is why though, if an album and tour is in the offing ... it has just got to be absolutely brilliant ... almost better than anything Lennon & McCartney ever did at their best. If it is just 'ok' people will have thought 'well what was all the bleeding fuss about' ... they're both quite ordinary aren't they?

I should imagine if it is going ahead ... they've got a team of crack song-writers in for back-up.

Norma

I read on teletext today that robbies team said there would be an offical announcements made very soon.

Further extending the speculation.

I've just watched the strangest film on Film 4!

Norma

We will probbaly have a month of speculation to maximise the hye.

What was the film?

The Strange Affair of Uncle Harry - with George Sanders in it. For 1945 it was a really, really dark film ... with a truly cheesy ending. Apparently the original play keeps the ending as dark as the rest of it. If you look up the title, or just Uncle Harry on google - you'll get a bit of a synopsis.

Norma

Apparantly gary has co wrote 2 new songs on robbies upcoming greatest hits along with shame and also (apparantly) shame is the album opener.

Yeah ... the other one is called 'Heart and I'. By the title I'd say its a ballad so I hope to goodness that 'Shame' is a bit upbeat.

Norma

I'll tell you what is funny though. I bet all those Rob fans who hate TT (well Gary anyway) who said they wouldn't have anything to do with TT will be the first on the phones and the internet for tickets. You know I was having second thoughts about going to see them again anyway (I've seen The Circus ... which they as a foursome or a fivesome will NEVER match) so I'm not too concerned ... Rob being with them just makes it easier as I won't even have to bother trying for tickets this time. I do feel for those Take That fans though, who are willing to put up with Rob being with them - as I think a lot of them will miss out. Therefore ... I'm assuming most people at the concerts will be Rob fans. I really feel Rob and Gary have let both sets of fans down here ... and I think both of them are just looking out for themselves ... without much thought for the other three.

Norma

Edit ... AND ... no matter what people say ... this is the END for Take That. Rob can quite easily slip back to his solo act - even if his fans in the UK will be very sceptical of him now ... those outside the UK/Ireland (I doubt they'll take the tour outside the UK/Ireland) will still have only the solo image of him. I can't see Take That going back to a foursome - but I actually think they want it to end.

Edit again ... having said that ... Take That 2005 - 2009 have been fabulous ... and I am glad that I've been to all three tours!

Well, I rightly don't have an opinion, one way ot the other, about all this hullabaloo.....since, I, as Norma, said previously, am one of those who lives outside the UK/Ireland, who have stumbled upon all this after the split in 1995, and the TT reformation in 2005.....other than to say, if they wanna have this original 5 tour, g'head.....personally, I don't see what either side could possibly get out of all this, save more money to line their pockets, of which they could send a couple hundred thousand quid my way, so I could pay off my bills.....since Robbie and Gary have apparently become best mates again, maybe they're looking to shack up together, either in LA, or in the UK.....

I love you Biggie! You have the same take on this as me! I wish they'd throw a few pennies my way!

They could shock us all and stay together and say the reform was so well recieved and they enjoyed it so much they decided to keep it going.

I reckon, it's very likely they will call it a day after the Tour 2011.

The coming album and tour will be massive and they've always pledged to leave at the top of their game.....that would be the right moment.

They've achieved everything they had ever wanted. They had a fantastic career in the 90's and a triumphant return 10 years later. They will have their biggest selling album and tour this year respectively next year. With Robbie on board they'll be able to sell out stadiums accross Europe. I believe they want to quit with a big bang and the Robbie participation will be it.

In the german TT forum there are rumours that Jason has already confirmed in private that the coming album and tour with Robbie will mark the ultimate end of TT.
