July 15, 201014 yr I reckon, it's very likely they will call it a day after the Tour 2011. The coming album and tour will be massive and they've always pledged to leave at the top of their game.....that would be the right moment. They've achieved everything they had ever wanted. They had a fantastic career in the 90's and a triumphant return 10 years later. They will have their biggest selling album and tour this year respectively next year. With Robbie on board they'll be able to sell out stadiums accross Europe. I believe they want to quit with a big bang and the Robbie participation will be it. In the german TT forum there are rumours that Jason has already confirmed in private that the coming album and tour with Robbie will mark the ultimate end of TT. I think you're right in your first sentence but I doubt they'll take any tour to Europe. Gary Barlow has got his musical credibility back now and Robbie had, and still has, his own solo career. So ... that's two of the five sorted. I bet Howie is glad he's kept his DJ business thriving. Norma
July 15, 201014 yr Breaking News just in, Robbie Williams has officially rejoined Take That http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Showbiz-N...ng_His_Old_Band Robbie Relights The Fire With Take That Source: Sky News Online Singer Robbie Williams is rejoining Take That, the band has confirmed. Williams has already recorded an album with his former band-mates, which is being released in November. Sky News understands he will also tour with Take That members Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen. A statement from the band says: "The rumours are true... Take That: the original line-up, have written and recorded a new album for release later this year. "Following months of speculation Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Robbie Williams confirmed they have been recording a new studio album as a five-piece, which they will release in November. "It is the first time they've recorded a full album together since the release of their number one album 'Nobody Else', back in 1995." Williams said: "I get embarrassingly excited when the five of us are in a room. It feels like coming home." Mark Owen says: "Getting the five of us to be in a room together, although always a dream, never actually seemed like becoming a reality. "Now the reality of the five of us making a record together feels like a dream. It's been an absolute delight spending time with Rob again. But I'm still a better footballer." Sky News Entertainment correspondent Steve Hargrave said: "Apparently it's for just a year at first, and they will go on tour. "It's no great surprise to Take That fans. Gary Barlow and Robbie have been talking a lot about becoming friends again. "Robbie is releasing a greatest hits album in October, with one song recorded as a duet with Gary Barlow. "It sets it up perfectly for this kind of fairytale reunion around Christmas time which will involve lots of spin-offs, of course."
July 15, 201014 yr And from the official site: http://www.takethat.com/ Smugness knows no boundaries. Norma
July 15, 201014 yr I'm so disappointed by this. I have absolutely no interest in them as a five piece, maybe that's a bit selfish because I was too young to remember them as a five piece the first time round but to me they just don't belong together. I think we're definitely coming to the end of Take That.
July 15, 201014 yr Well I might as well merge Robbie Williams and Take That forum together now :magic: less space :smoke:

July 15, 201014 yr I had the radio on at work and it was on all the news bulletins and they talked about it on all the radio shows all evening, the responce was definitly more positive than negative and all music insiders reckon its gonna be huge and they will all make bucket loads from it.

July 16, 201014 yr The media seem to be a lot more positive about it than the fans on either side  Its just pure greed. Very farcical and I have a brilliant idea for Kim Gavin (designing the show) ... following on from the brilliant The Circus Tour ... they should theme this one around 'The Pantomime' because that is what this whole drawn out thing has been. We find out now that they've actually been working on material for about a year ... and time after time, when the question was put directly to them, they denied or made no comment. All of them are treating their fans like idiots because they know a lot will pay to see them at any cost ... even with Rob on board. I mean ... I know it was a long time ago ... but have these guys got no self-respect? Norma
July 16, 201014 yr When you say no self respect what do you mean, we dont know the full ins and outs and at the end of the day it takes alot to overcome what they have done from a freindship point of view, to be realistic alot of the bad stuff happened when they were very young, now that they have grown up they all see things in a very different way.

Pete I just don't believe for a minute the best buds bit. I think they've come to a very profitable business arrangement and are probably civil right now but I really don't believe all the chumminess. As a business venture I think it is actually wise that they keep friendship out of it they'll all surely get rich out of this. Money talks. Norma You know what though Pete? Despite my 'don't give a damn' posts ... I'm really quite angry about this. Sure ... some things Gary Barlow has done over the last 12 months or so have made me see him in another (not very attractive) light. Despite this ... the concerts have been fab and ... I probably would have gone to see their next tour as no matter what ... they put on fantastic shows. However ... I feel bloody well cheated and betrayed by the present Take That. I bought into them THIS time ... I couldn't stand them the first time ... the main reason being Robbie Williams. If he'd have been with them on the Ultimate Tour ... I would NOT have bothered going to see them. Yes ... I know that fans from this era only are generally looked down on as not putting our money's worth in because 'we weren't in there at the beginning' and that they are doing it for their original fans only (plus the money) but I feel as cheated as the Rob fans feel cheated by him for rejoining them. July 16, 201014 yr Yesi agree with some of what you are saying, they are business people at the end of the day all 5 of them and as business goes this is the best thing they could do profit wise right now, although to be fair to robbie and take that they have done quite well seperatly the last few years. Gary and Robbie will probably be never bets friends but are probably friends and have out the past behind the to a certain degree and learned in some ways to appreciate each other in a different way, 15 years is a long time and a completly different age group and mind set so they take things on differently and undertsnad things in a more mature way maybe that is all that was ever needed in the first place, plus no matter what was said or wasnt said the press at the time would have made it worse just like now they will probably make it sound sthey are much closer than what they are. For someone like mark though who remained friends with gary and robbie this is probably a dream come true and i would think mark;s friendship with robbie had alot to do with this re union aswell. One thing i am confused on, is take that are now a four peice and robbie is robbie, robbie is suppose dto be returning for one album and one tour only and then take that go back to a four piece and robbie goes back to been robbie, if all that stays to plan will the album be a take that and robbie williams/ robbie and take that or will it be just called take that? July 16, 201014 yr Pete I don't think they'll be going back anywhere once this tour is over. This is the end until 2021 when they come back for a 30 year reunion. I think its a long term plan. Rob will do his solo stuff in between, I wouldn't be surprised if Mark does some small scale touring on his own (this deal will finance it ... and more) and Gary will obviously continue writing and producing ... plus I see him as a major player in TV shows. Howard has his DJing and Jason is just a creature of the elements and will go with the flow. Norma
July 16, 201014 yr I dunno. They obviously REALLY enjoy being on stage in front of millions of people. You see their concerts and you see they're as excited as the audience. And the only way for them to have this -- with the exception of Robbie -- is to stick together as Take That. So no, I don't think they'll stop anytime soon. And I really bet they'll tour internationally. Take That aren't as big as they are in the UK anywhere else right now but Robbie is huge worldwide. So Robbie being with them will probably help Take That move up from arenas to stadiums in the markets they sell well and Robbie sell EXTREMELY well: Germany, Spain, Netherlands, maybe France. I'm not excited about Robbie being back with them. Not at all. I don't like him and I think he and Take That are two completely different entities. But whatever, I'm really excited for new music and, most of all, for a new tour. Edited July 16, 201014 yr by André
July 16, 201014 yr Robbie is definitly the bigger star in Europe and take that will beenfit, all i can say is we cant judge it all until we see what they come up and how it works, i supose let the work speak for itself. Its hard to know what will happen with take that when this ends but i live in hope we get more album, norma you reckoned we would never get another studio album after the circus and we are so like back then i will say i think we will, or maybe i should so i hope we will. As i have always said once the music is good, robbie in it or not i will buy the albums, if the music isnt my taste i wont buy it.
July 16, 201014 yr Statement from Gary on his website. I saw that this morning. Said they were sorry they had to lie to folk for the last 12 months. Norma
