July 18, 201014 yr If you read the document in question, it says that child abuse is a sin, and that female ordination is a sin (although admittedly, it would bring people back into mass) . However, it is a mis-representation of the article to claim that the Church says that child molestation is as morally wrong as ordaining women, which is exactly what most news headlines have so conveniently done. Stealing someone's identity is a serious crime. Killing several people is a serious crime. Does that mean that killing 5 people is at the same moral level as stealing someone's identity, as both are viewed in the eyes of the law as serious crimes? Of course not, and herein lies the problem with the interpretation that the papers have got from the papal decree. Edited July 18, 201014 yr by Brett-Butler

Of course not, and herein lies the problem with the interpretation that the papers have got from the papal decree. If you steal someone's identity in order to kill someone (as Mossad did..) then, er, yeah, I'd say that was a problem..... Okay, admittedly, I was being a tad facetious there, but this really does just highlight the stupidity of the Catholic Church... And, frankly, given they are so dead against Women Priests and seem to bend over backwards to cover up for Paedophile Priests, I'd say that's your answer right there tbh... They seem to think it's more important to veto the ordination of women priests than do something punitive about child abusers in their own ranks... That makes them big, fat hypocrites in my book..... <_<
July 20, 201014 yr I have to admit, this made me smile today..... http://newsarse.com/2010/07/13/we-play-mak...t-women-vicars/
