ITVDannii Minogue has admitted that she was nervous as she began working on new music.

The X Factor judge recently returned to the studio after a seven-year break. Minogue's last studio album Neon Nights peaked at number eight in the UK album chart.

In scenes featured in her upcoming ITV2 series, the new mother revealed her reservations.

"It's been pushed back to my agenda for a long time," she said.

"I think since X Factor came on the scene I’ve been heavily involved in the mentoring of other people and helping their music career. It’s kind of scary for me today because it’s like getting back on the horse."

Minogue also admitted that she still needs to learn how to deal with criticism directed at her.

"I think I’ve copped quite a bit of flack over the year’s for the music: 'It's not been as good as your sister's or it’s not charted this or it should have done that', but I’ve loved it and enjoyed it and I’ve learnt a lot. I’ve got to get some confidence with it and right now I don’t have that," she said.

It was reported last month that she had signed a £1m record deal with Ministry of Sound.

Dannii Minogue: Style Queen begins on August 4 at 9pm on ITV2.

She is definitly in the right position now (popularity wise) to release something and if the material is good i think she could do very well.
Maybe she can have an album that peaks higher than 8

Radio haven't touched her since 'You Won't Forget About Me' and I don't see that changing now, although if she releases anything she should coincide it with X-Factor and get a performance slot on there, it's the only chance she has.

I still want a proper follow-up to Neon Nights.

Yes i agree she should use x factor to her advantage and do a performance, and yes id also like to see a proper follow up to neon nights. Again i think if Dannii works with the right people and releases the right material she can success again and maybe alot more success than before.
Dannii is more popular now than she has EVER been. It's the perfect time to start releasing some music! And I think this time she could be very succesful.
As some people have already said, Dannii is more popular now than she ever has been before, and if she does release something she should get the album released during the live shows for X Factor so she can get a performance slot which should help a lot.
I would love for her to do a performance on X-factor, she should also get her own show like Cheryl got.
It could, if more people know her now then they will be more likely to buy her music.
What she would really need is for radio to playlist her, all her singles after 'You Won't Forget About Me' got ignored by radio. Without that there's no hope.
She only had about 3 singles after it though  Its not the end of the world, i'm sure radio 2 would playlist her.

I doubt it, she needs Radio 1 above all. A lot of time has passed since she was last in the top 10, nearly 6 years now. Who knows, maybe with her public profile as high as it is that may be the key to getting this support if she goes for it, but it didn't help her for the last single when she was an X-Factor judge.

I don't see why Radio 1 is any better than Radio2, i prefer R2 anyways. Well she was only just a judge when TMLT came out, she is way more popular now
