August 1, 201014 yr Ah right, I doubt HMV would even stock Sophie in their sale anymore :snif: A trip to Amazon/eBay is needed! I'm sure it'll be on HMV.com :P I'll have a look there. ^_^
August 2, 201014 yr Hey, my weekly comments :D 3. Stromae - Alors On Danse (15) (CR-41-39-25-18-12-9-8-9-13-17-OUT-19-12-23-18-14-15-3) Blimey, big climb for this :o 10. The Saturdays - Missing You (12) (CR-32-26-17-12-10) Did you see them on Alan Carr's show? It was a great way to show everybody that they can't sing  It was a bit like Girls Aloud's GMTV performance of The Loving Kind :kink: 13. The Naked & Famous - Young Blood (5) (CR-7-3-2-5-13) This has been entered into The Countdown now, I wonder if it'll romp to victory there too  31. Devlin - Brainwashed (NEW) (CR-31) No comment :P 35. The Wanted - All Time Low (Re-entry) (CR-32-30-32-OUT-35) Another awful number one single. I just don't get them at all :( 37. Freemasons feat Wynter Gordon - Believer (NEW) (CR-37) Another one I'm yet to hear, but good to see that Wynter is finally getting her act together and trying to get her name out there a bit more. I wonder if Surveillance could still be a big success? 40. Brandon Flowers - Crossfire (49) (CR-49-40) I have to say I find this incredibly dull compared to The Killers' songs :( 42. Alesha Dixon - Drummer Boy (NEW) (CR-42) Not heard this yet, but I read on Popjustice that it's the biggest load of noise this year? 49. KT Tunstall - Fade Like A Shadow (NEW) (CR-49) Is this from the new album? Lot of Medina this week :D I am going to get the English album soon, as I loved all the Danish tracks I heard!
August 2, 201014 yr Hi Rich here are my standout tracks from your chart :) 1. Roll Deep - Green Light (1) (CR-18-10-5-3-1-1) - I only heard this today and was shocked by how much i liked it, an improvement on Good Times. 5. Jason DeRülo - What If (6) (CR-43-OUT-42-34-21-9-6-5) - the video really made this for me as it was just ok before but i love it now. 7. Kylie Minogue - Get Outta My Way (4) (CR-3-2-4-4-7) - my second fave from the brilliant album behind Can't Beat The Feeling, i hope it becomes a big hit for her. 8. Katy Perry - Teenage Dream (30) (CR-30-8) - love this but i'm not too sure if i prefer it over CaliGurls just yet but I can see it growing a lot especially when the vid comes out. 10. The Saturdays - Missing You (12) (CR-32-26-17-12-10) - A nice single but they really should have gone for Higher IMO, hopefully it's the second single and both can help sell the EP. 16. The Hoosiers - Choices (22) (CR-46-22-16) - a song which I hated when I first heard it but it clicked with me a couple weeks back, love it now. 21. McFly - Party Girl (25) (CR-35-25-21) - as much as I like this song it really isn't McFly not sure if this'll be a hit or not. 30. Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are (43) (CR-43-30) - now i LOOOOVE this, he really makes the songs he's featured on as well. 42. Alesha Dixon - Drummer Boy (NEW) (CR-42) - ooo glad this has entered, while it clearly isn't her best i think it's a great song. 49. KT Tunstall - Fade Like A Shadow (NEW) (CR-49) this and Push That Knot Away are amazing, really looking forward to her 3rd album.
August 2, 201014 yr Author 8. That's true. Although I personally wouldn't say 'California Gurls' and 'Teenage Dream' were that different :heehee: Considering TD is basically a slower version. Haha. But TBF to Katy, she did start the whole trashy voice sorta thing. (Do you get what I mean?) Remember when everyone thought it was Katy Perry and not Ke$ha on 'Right Round'? 30. Yes I remember you saying that the other week and I agree. It does have a 'Doesn't Mean Anything' vibe to it. 39/40. I thought it'd be one of those tracks that Radio 1 would love to death, but actually get nowhere. I'm pleased it went top 10 as fast as it did though as I probably wouldn't have checked it out otherwise! It's amazing on a night out though. I heard it on Friday and it was mental! 8. I guess you're right, although the latter definitely feels more edgy and serious. Yeah Ke$ha's a dirty Katy copycat :kink: 39/40. Yeah, hopefully it doesn't drop out of the officials too quickly. I haven't heard it out yet but I rarely go clubbing these days :( Hello GD, vg chart as ever! That's quite a run for Kylie's All The Lovers and also good to see Yolanda and Jason in your top 5. Thanks Ghosty  3. Indeed, I thought that 8 was a tragic peak for one of my top 20 songs of the year, plus I've been listening to it loads recently! 10. No :o But I'm heading to Youtube now on that basis, that GA performance was one of my favourite car crashes, particularly Sarah's wailing  13. Aha! Maybe it will! I'm still glad I didn't send it to BJSC, even if it would have won. Would have been very uninspired of me. 31. I like the chorus, what can I say! 35. Shame, I actually like this song, it's all in the strings  37. It's quite subtle and definitely a grower but I can imagine you liking it. I have to admit that I'm not big on Wynter, apart from this song and Sugar. 40. I like it, but it's not exactly got a massive chorus. Still, it's quickly growing on me. 42. it's definitely an acquired taste of a song but I do like it. 49. Presumably. It's not single material but I like it. Yes! It's a truly great album  Hi Rich here are my standout tracks from your chart :) 1. I have to agree, even though I loved Good Times. This is fantastic, the bassline is great! 5. I loved it before, it was my highlight of the album, but indeed the video is brilliant. 7. My second favourite behind All The Lovers (if you hadn't already guessed ) 10. Not heard Higher yet but looking forward to getting the EP! 16. I've never liked them to be honest but this is a vast improvement on their usual rubbish imo  21. Agreed I guess, it will probably get a high peak and tumble away quickly... 30. Definitely agree with that. 42. We're a rare breed that seem to like this song I think  49. Not heard Push That Knot Away yet :o

It's a truly great album  03 - Fair enough, it's always awful to look back on favourite songs to find they peaked ridiculously low. I remember in 2008, my end of year chart had a song that peaked at number 44  I do really love that song now and grew to like it months after it had left my chart. I should have re-entered it :\ 10 -, it wasn't as bad as the performance of The Loving Kind, but it certainly won't have helped them get any sales :kink: 13 - Indeed, I'm glad you went for something more quirky. I probably wouldn't have given Young Blood any points in BJSC 35 - For some reason, it doesn't get in my head, and I am not keen on the way they are trying too hard to look credible, copying Snow Patrol with the flares in their video :( 37 - I often like Freemasons songs, but they tend to be a bit flash in the pan entering high and then dropping out of my chart a few weeks later. 49 - Oh right, where did you hear it?

Indeed. Luckily I don't have too many...mostly ballads I think that took ages to grow, like Cyndi's I'll Leave My Heart which somehow only peaked at #21 for me :( and then there are older songs that I never liked much at the time but do now but until 2004 I only had a top five, so that doesn't bother me as much as most of them I still don't like enough for them to have gone top five anyway...The highest a song in my end of year top 40 with the lowest weekly peak was Kelly Clarkson's Beautiful Disaster which peaked at #7 for me in 2005 and finished 27th in my end of year chart because it hung around for an absolute age :o 13. Sorry I didn't give your entry points, it was in my top 20 but not quite top 15... 35. I know what you mean about them trying to be cool. I'm rather surprised that boybands are in vogue again to be honest, remember Avenue two years ago (which featured a couple of members of The Wanted). I really liked their song Last Goodbye, but it completely flopped, not even top 75 I don't think  JLS really opened doors again for young (not just 90's revival) boybands. 37. I love a few of their songs - Love On My Mind, Uninvited...but mostly I like their remixes, which have been known to turn crap songs into great ones (I'm mainly thinking of Beyonce here ). 49. Can't remember, stumbled across it on some blog I think...

I wonder how it would have done in Eurovision though  13 - It's fine, I thought it might struggle to feature in the majority of votes as it's an aquired taste. 35 - I am really worried about the music industry at the moment tbh, especially after the epicness of 2009. I've liked about three of this years number ones :\ . I do remember Avenue  I'm not surprised they failed, they didn't bring much to the table, but I do prefer Last Goodbye far more than All Time Low. 37 - Beyonce has a lot to thank them for, had they not remixed the singles from the Bday (?) album, she might not still be the success she is today as I think songs like Deja Vu would have bombed without the Freemasons mixes

Better than Scooch definitely but it wouldn't have been the winner some people had tipped it as. I reckon 8th-12th personally... 35. 2009 was excellent, my top 15 of the year were all absolutely amazing. So far this year I'd only say my top 5 have been as good. So projecting that considering we have 5 months left of the year, there may only be 8 or 9 truly brilliant songs, a massive dip from last year unless it improves dramatically :( The number ones have mostly been pretty dire. When the best was an average GaGa single you know you're in trouble  37. Yes definitely. Deja Vu and Green Light were both terrible in their original form. Beautiful Liar had a great remix too, although Shakira's presence undoubtedly helped that along too. She had Irreplaceable at least that era I guess, which I loved

August 3, 201014 yr Author 03 - Yeah, I'd say about 11th or 12th, as the East really did dominate in 2007 35 - I know :( In 2009 I found it hard to cut down on the number of songs I wanted to put in my end of year chart, this year I'll be struggling to make up numbers  37 - Beautiful Liar was good in it's original form and remix, but I wasn't keen on the original versions of all her other singles from that era. 3. Indeed, it was definitely too cliched/old fashioned to come top five a la Niamh/Didrik this year... 35. I'm quite liking my YTD chart so far but it's much more packed with ESC/MF songs than usual, even though they weren't vintage years for either contest...says something about the even worse state of UK releases I guess :( 37. Agreed on all points there. 3. Stromae - Alors On Danse (15) (CR-41-39-25-18-12-9-8-9-13-17-OUT-19-12-23-18-14-15-3) 4.
