Oh well, obviously I have differing opinions. For me, 'Billionaire' is a far better track than 'All Time Low'. I'm very much aware that 'Billionaire' is all about American culture and has no relevance to British culture (president, basketball, Opera - not exactly British things, eh? :D ) but I just really like the song itself. The fact it's by Travie McCoy means absolutely nothing to me. It could be B.o.B. featuring Bruno Mars doing this song and I'd probably still like it loads. Gym Class Heroes never did well in my chart with any of their singles - especially 'Clothes Off' which was just a crime to music. Bruno Mars has indeed featured on two tracks that have topped my chart. Could this 'Just The Way You Are' make it three? Have to admit, I've still not checked out this song.

When I first listened to this, I thought it 'The Flood Pt II' as it sounds almost identical to that song. This is pleasant enough but yes, 'The Flood' is far superior.

Not a fan of the new Gorillaz track unfortunately

 

Really? :o It's their best single since the last single released from 'Demon Days'. I thought 'Stylo' was really average and that 'Superfast Jellyfish' (or whatever it's calledf) was absolute crap. 'On Melancholy Hill' is easily the best choice of single release this era. In fact, this should've been released as the first single as I'm sure with more of an initial "comeback" buzz, this track would've taken off much better than 'Stylo' did.

It might be overrated but it's such a brilliant uplifting feel good track. Deserves all the success it gets - really thought 'Billionaire' was going to be #2 in the UK. Yolanda Be Cool must've overtaken in the last minute.

Well, obviously I disagree with that. 'She Said' is one of my fave singles of 2010. I do like 'Prayin' - it's done well to climb into my top 10 after stalling at #11 for a fortnight.

'California Gurls' has also performed really poorly in Sweden's singles chart where it failed to go top 10. Considering just how popular 'I Kissed A Girl' was in Sweden, I would've expect 'CG' to do well to some extent.

I will admit, I really didn't think I was going to like 'Find Your Love' purely because all of his previous releases just haven't appealed to me whatsoever. This track is a country mile better than all his previous singles and ultimately gives Drake his debut chart hit here.

...and thoroughly deserved it is too. :P If I was compiling a chart in 2001, I'm almost sure that 'Fallin' would've had a similar chart run. I actually think 'TSWABH' has overtaken 'Fallin' to become my fave Alicia Keys track.

Have you considered changing your chart rules or are you very strict with the way your chart is compiled? I know I have my own strict rules as I like my chart (particularly the top 20) to have some form of order. I've had tracks enter and climb to their peak but very rarely have songs enter high, drop down and reclimb all over again. Iirc, the most bizzare chart run for me was Shakira 'Don't Bother' which went:

Yeah, 'A Happy Place' is like 'The Flood (Part II) Broken Down" - just doesn't include an unexpected uptempo twist halfway through. Did Goergia qualify for the final in 2007? :unsure: I might remember the song if I heard it. All I remember from 2007 was 'Molitva' - the non-winner, Vercha - proper Eurovision :w00t: and Serebro whose 'Song 1' was my fave entry that year. To think Russia won the following year with such a non-song. -_-

It is a real grower. This has been around for almost a year in Wallony (south Belguim). First time I heard it, it didn't click or anything and didn't make any impact. Then I was listening to the song more when the track was starting to take off across Europe back in Feb/March time and it starts worming its way into my brain. The fact it progressed 10-05-03 before spending a month at no. 1 in my chart shows how the song continued growing on me over a period of time before I ultimately thought it was the best song around (ie; when its "airplay" peaked - as in when I played the track the most in a week). :lol:

I actually avoided this thinking I'd hate it but upon finally deciding to listen to it, I thought it was fairly decent. His cover of 'I Promised Myself' was tragic though. :(

Yeah, the same is likely to happen with me. I did think the standard of the UP songs were really strong - but then in context with my chart and what I usually listen to, Pallers ranked the most successful but even then 'The Kiss' peaked at #17.

'In Silco'? Is that their album from 2007? 'Propane Nightmares' was the first Pendulum single that really caught my attention. I liked how they sampled Dune 'A Million Miles Away' without making it really obvious. 'Witchcraft' sounds like its trying to 'Propane Nightmares' but not succeeding. :( A bit like Katie Melua's new single but I guess Katie is more of a guilty pleasure ( :ph34r: ) than Pendulum.

I like '4th of July' but 'Acapella' is the better of the two tracks. Plus there's been some decent music released (for a change :P ) recently which would have had a bigger impact on pushing Kelis down the chart. Otherwise Kelis might've had a slower drop down the chart.

02 - We No Speak Americano is alright, but a little annoying. It spent 1 week at 57 in my chart :lol:

14 - I can't think what songs they've stolen elements from, but I recognised so many melodies. Maybe they're just instantly catchy, but I definitely felt like I'd known them before.

18 - Yeah, it had sword fighting and a woman in a red dress wailing :lol: . Verka and Elitsa & Stoyan for Bulgaria were my favourites that year :wub:

30 - That was definitely not his finest moment.

34 - There were about 3 or 4 songs that I loved in this Unknown Pleasures, which is more than usual, but less than I liked the first time I took part in it a few years back.

35 - Yes that's right. Propane Nightmares was awesome, and the follow up single to that, The Other Side I think it was called, was also really good :D
