What is everyones favourite old Hip Hop singles, especially from the late 80's - early 90's? Which in my opinion was the best time for Hip Hop music before the arrival of the the Gangsta Sh!te.

One of my favourites is Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock It Takes Two, is such an awesome track, and their version of Joy & Pain isnt bad either, though the original by Maze & Frankie Beverly is far superior.

Rebel Without a Pause was one of the finest tracks ever let alone one of the best hip-hop tracks.

Paid in Full was also mighty fine and I still play that.

My favourite album of this genre would have to be Raising Hell by Run-DMC.

I'm really into the native toungues posse atm especially De la Soul and A tribe called quest, possitive messages to a jazzy tracks full of clever samples is where its at!! The current state of hip hop is a sad joke.
Don't like Hip Hop as a rule, but I make exception for De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest etc.

Another vote for the Native Tongues here. Also loved the Dream Warriors when they were about.

...and does anyone remember Rappin' is Fundamental or Credit to the Nation?

I saw Cypress Hill yesterday. everyone was high. it was good.
