Could Ne'Yo actually break the 3 week barrier if he gets a #1 next week, the track is pretty damn catchy and could potentially be a constant big seller throughout the summer weeks. Last act to reach 4 weeks at #1 is Lily Allen last year (March). Unless Tinchy Stryder has something to say about it next week, personally Ne'Yo has got a stability factor and could get a 4 week plus chart run. As for the albums chart, Arcade Fire have literally got it in the bag this week considering album sales are low, personally I can't see Eminem staying put, his album sales are slowly decreasing each week.
August 2, 201014 yr I can't see Beautiful Monster hanging on for more than 2 weeks, he might manage 3 but 4 I can't see happening. No particular reason why it can't happen, I just can't see it. Tinchy might be strong enough to get #1, the Sats might be strong enough to get #1 as well. I guess we'll find out in time though :P But yeah, definitely one week, likely 2 weeks, possible 3 weeks, very very unlikely 4 weeks is what I think. It would be good to finally have a #1 with 4+ week longevity but Beautiful Monster won't be it I think. Edited August 2, 201014 yr by Bray Doolittle
August 2, 201014 yr Arcade Fire will get a couple of weeks top of the album chart, they're top of virtually every pre-order chart. They'll lose it to Iron Maiden the week after that though!
August 2, 201014 yr I've just bought 'The Element of Freedom' today so hopefully it will climb this week. :kink: Album sales are very low atm. :kink: Hopefully 'The Boy Who Murdered Love' will get a third week in the top 40. Erm, what else? Oh, hopefully Enrique will get another week in the top 40 with 'Euphoria' and will hold up well with 'I Like It'.

I can honestly see Eminem being knocked off for a week then regaining #1 again next week. Arcade Fire are almost certain to be extremely frontloaded if only for their genre. Unless they can somehow do a Kasabian that is, but Kasabian released WRPLA off the back of their biggest single ever, whereas Arcade Fire haven't actually released a single at all and We Used To Wait has got very low airplay despite the A-Listing on R1.
August 2, 201014 yr I really thought The Hoosiers would've had a strong challange for no. 1 this week but its still not top 10 on iTunes. :| Strange that in 2007 they great chart success but with, imo, really crap songs. Now they release a song I think is worthy of their success three years ago...and it's not taken off at all. On the flip side, Ne-Yo is becoming one of those overrated artists who seems to sell on name alone. 'Beautiful Monster' to me seems like a wannabe 'Closer' and failing miserably. Not that I hate the song, it just lacks something to make it strong. Then again how fast is Ne-Yo gaining on Flo-Rida? 'Club Can't Handle Me' could still end up no. 1 this Sunday.
August 2, 201014 yr I don't understand why anyone was expecting Choices to do well, it's literally doing exactly as well as I expected right now. I thought it was obvious album 2 + its singles would struggle compared to album 1 + its singles.

You could be right. Eminem, love him or loathe him, is one of the highest selling artists of the new millenium. Personally I think his new material his terrible, he's a shadow of his former self who came out with clever stuff like 'Stan', but he's obviously a smart businessman, which is why he incorporated R&B into his style to reflect its current chart domination. He may very well regain No. 1 a few times, but I think he'll definitely drop for Arcade Fire this week and Iron Maiden 2 weeks after.

I can definitely see his chart run panning out to 1-1-2-1-1-1-2-1-2- in the first 9 weeks (#2 behind Kylie, Arcade Fire and Iron Maiden respectively)
