I'm really suprosed how well they're holding up, I thought he'd have knocked them off by yesterday nevermind still be #1 today with a lead of almost 2k! If the gap has narrowed by 1k in a day, with no real change on iTunes from yesterday, they'd probably lose another 1k tomorrow, right? I can see it being extremely tight on Sunday but I can't see The Sats hanging on. If the "download day" tomorrow is actually effective (wouldn't the fans already have a copy from iTunes? :wacko:), they might hang on - just.

August 12, 201015 yr Jeez... this 'campaign' to try and get them to no.1 has become extremely desperate. Surely if the song was good enough it'd easily make no.1 anyway. It would be an extremely unmerited #1, and even if it gets there that doesn't make the song any better - it'll still be forgotten about in a few months time. That only applied when there was a large physical component to sales, and that's long gone, for singles at least...

The weekend effect is when songs that are more recognized benefit from people buying them on the weekend.

August 12, 201015 yr If The Sats want to stay at number 1. They can't don nothing today and 2rw, they are literally going to have to take to the street pitch up outside HMVS and other outlets selling the physical single and force people to go in and buy it.
August 12, 201015 yr Tbh it's probably a blessing in disguise if 'Missing You' fails to get to #1 officially. If it did, it would most probably be the lowest-selling #1 of the year and would plummet the following week like JLS/The Wanted. Take a look at Christina; if she didn't reach #1 with 'Bionic', she wouldn't have the biggest decline from the #1 spot in UK history as well as the lowest ever weekly sales for a number one album. I personally think a #1 is better than a #2 if the album is going to sell the same and decline to the same extent regardless but some don't see it like that.

Even if they do get there it will surely have a big fall next week One of the advantages they would have had though is when advertising the album they could say "includes number 1 hit Missing You" , but I doubt that will really make too much difference to their album sales I'd be gutted if I was them though.. Missing out on number 1 twice and both times being number 1 all week in the midweeks and at the last minute overtaken by Flo Rida

August 12, 201015 yr When you think about it, if flo rida gains on them at the rate he is gaining now, there could only be like 200 copies between number one on sunday :| I think, if the saturdays plan a signing on saturday in like london, or something then maybe theyn could just get it! :L I personally think it will be helarious! :') i want them to be number one now! aha, my hope is holding on with the thinest piece of string ever :) On the other hand, if they are going to be beaten i want Love the way you lie to beat them, just to wipe the smile of Flo rida's face :')
