Posted July 14, 200618 yr So far, Fioreintina have been deducted and Juventus have been releagted to serie B and decucted 30 points. Lazio are down to serie B with a seven point deduction and AC Milan have stayed in serie B and have a 15 point deduction.
July 14, 200618 yr It won't be the end, thy'll all be back up challenging for the title by 2010, just like Fiorentina after they were demoted to Serie C about 4 years ago...
July 14, 200618 yr Author Personally I think the only players that will leave will be the Juve players. All clubs aren't allowed to play in the europe either next season
July 14, 200618 yr Personally I think the only players that will leave will be the Juve players. All clubs aren't allowed to play in the europe either next season Yeah but that's still Buffon, Abiatti, Brindelli, Kovac, Thuram, Zebina, Cannavaro, Veiera, Emerson, Nedved, Camoransei, Zambrotta, Ibrahimovic, Del Piero, Trezeguet and Mutu. Enough for most big clubs in Europe to get someone...
July 14, 200618 yr Hopefully we will get a CL spot then :cheer: The punishments affect it like this: Champions League: AC Milan Inter Roma Chievo Palermo (if Milan aren't allowed in) UEFA Cup: Palermo (if not in CL) Livorno Empoli Teams moving to Serie A: Mantova (play-off runners-up) Messina (18th in Serie A) possibly Lecce (19th in Serie A) So no, you won't ;) Edited July 14, 200618 yr by RabbitFurCoat
July 14, 200618 yr Buffon will be out the price range of most clubs... He cost Juve £30 million and his reputation has gone up since then.. Although the clubs will know that playing in the lower leagues will autmatically lower the players value and may want to get what they can for them..

July 15, 200618 yr Author I meant Serie A. All the clubs are appealing against their punishments but I don't think they'll be very sucessful, especially Juve as they got off lightly IMO considerning the evidence they had against them.
July 25, 200618 yr THE FINAL APPEAL VERDICT IS: Lazio now STAY in Serie A with a 11 Points deduction. Fiorentina now STAY in Serie A with a 19 Points deduction. AC Milan points reduction is REDUCED from 15 Points to 7 Points reduction. Juventus will STILL be in Serie B next year but their points reduction is REDUCED from 30 points to 17 points.

Well that just goes to show even more how bad the Italian FA are.
July 26, 200618 yr What, exactly, is the justification for the reductions...? Did somebody bribe the judge or summat...?
July 26, 200618 yr too many economic interests in Italian soccer... it's no more sport, it's just business... it's so sad ! TV rights destroyed all LifeLight
July 26, 200618 yr Author What, exactly, is the justification for the reductions...? Did somebody bribe the judge or summat...? I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case at all. Juve had stacks of evidence against them, like tapped phone calls and everything yet they get there punishment reduced on appeal and how there off to the higher courts to appeal again. Ludacris -_-
July 26, 200618 yr too many economic interests in Italian soccer... it's no more sport, it's just business... it's so sad ! TV rights destroyed all LifeLight Well, that doesn't just apply to the Italian game mate, it applies just as much to the English Premiership as well.... In fact, Football in general is just about big business, nothing to do with the love of sport, look at all the sponsorship and big business interests horning in on the World Cup....
July 27, 200618 yr The difference between the English and the Italian game is that the English game is ENTERTAINING. The Italian game has billionaire companies involved in many teams and it's just too tactical. :( But back on topic there were NO reasons why the punishments were reduced so there must have been a few Lazio and Fiorentina supporters on the panel or the judges were bribed which would be hilarious if they were found out.
