August 15, 201014 yr I think Roll Deep will be a one hit wonder. The Saturdays Higher won't get to no1. Its not as good as missing. Robbie Williams & Gary - almost certainly a no1 hit. Katy Perry - next single - possibly no1 but not heard it yet. Roll Deep had a couple of top 40s a few years back actually, but I see your point. "Green Light" isn't exactly setting iTunes alight atm, but then again "Good Times" started a bit slowly.
August 15, 201014 yr I think Roll Deep will be a one hit wonder. #16 on iTunes 11 hours after release suggests that they won't be. At worst it's going top five I should think :o
August 15, 201014 yr I think Roll Deep will be a one hit wonder. Roll Deep have already had 3 hits... fair enough, only one big one, but you can't just dismiss the other two. Green Light is already top 20 on iTunes, so should go top 3 if not #1 easily.
August 15, 201014 yr True. I wouldn't exactly be relishing the prospect of a Justin Bieber/JLS collaboration. But can you imagine how successful it would be, they're the two most marketable teen acts around at the moment surely? :o Does anyone know where I can get a massive supply of Bromide to quell those ultra-high oestrogen levels, then? :P
August 15, 201014 yr I somehow doubt it, but whatever. Also, new KoL single is bound to be a big contender and, since the album is out on the 18th of October, can't be long now :w00t: As long as the come out with some songs I actually *like* this time, rather than SOF & US...
August 15, 201014 yr I reckon: 16th August. Eminem ft Rihanna - Love The Way You Lie 23rd August. Taio Cruz - Dynamite 30th August. Olly Murs - Please Dont Let Me Go (with Katy at #2) 6th August. Katy Perry - Teenage Dream 13th August. Katy Perry - Teenage Dream 20th August. Katy Perry - Teenage Dream (having a Fireflies type run) 27th August. Labrinth - Let The Sun Shine (think this should beat Tinie, its getting play on Radio 1 already and is far better!) 4th October. Robbie Williams & Gary Barlow - Shame
August 15, 201014 yr I think Roll Deep will probably peak at #2 or #3 this week. That means it'll probably be another week of Eminem/Rihanna and Flo Rida - with the former coming out on top, I would assume. Then surely an easy #1 for Taio Cruz with Brandon Flowers coming in around #4 or so. Taio Cruz might be able to hold off Katy. God knows it would be nice to have a song last longer than one week at number one. Feels like ages since the last time even if it was only like 2 months ago. Anyway, I'm gonna say he will, meaning Teenage Dream will enter at #2 with Olly Murs coming in at #3. For September 6th, I think the fact Stromae is already available will undoubtedly hurt it in the end. I expect it to peak at #2, possibly a bit lower - it might even peak before the week it's officially out. Not sure about McFly. They're really hard to predict this time around. It's been a while since they last released and as vidcapper said sales have dramatically improved since then. Alexandra Burke probably has a better chance? The rest is a bit too far away to predict IMO. I'm sure something will come along to fill the deadness before the 27th September... it looked dead in February too but it didn't quite turn out like that with Helping Haiti and Jedward coming along... August 15, 201014 yr It would officially make my year if Brandon Flowers beat Taio Cruz. It would make my decade if Linkin Park beat Alexandra and McFly, but I'm trying to keep some grip on reality here :P
August 15, 201014 yr It would officially make my year if Brandon Flowers beat Taio Cruz. It would make my year if even the Teletubbies beat Taio Cruz... :P
August 15, 201014 yr I'm dubious about 'Teenage Dream'. It seems Capitol have been very careless about the UK release and stumbled into overtime - they originally planned the released of 'Teenage Dream' to be before the album, but now, they've let things lapse over and they're being forced to release both single and album on the same day. From past experiences, this has always hindered a single's chart peak, and it doesn't help that the album and single have the exact same title. That aside, I expect Roll Deep will be #1 next week, but I don't really care about any week (because the good songs will be dwarfed by the more easily digestible rubbish) until the week beginning September 6, because that's going to be a very interesting week, with four huge contenders for the top spot. In fact, I reckon there could be and entirely new Top 3 that week. Edited August 15, 201014 yr by OddOne

It be nice for a track to stay at #1 for a few weeks, instead of having a new #1 each week. After Robbie and Gary, it be the X Factor charity track murdering another classic :nocheer:

August 15, 201014 yr Purely from looking at the release schedule, these are my predictions: 22-08-10 = Roll Deep 'Green Light' or Flo-Rida 'Club Can't Handle Me' 29-08-10 = Taio Cruz 'Dynamite' 05-09-10 = Olly Murs 'Please Don't Let Me Go' 12-09-10 = McFly 'Party Girl' or Olly Murs 'Please Don't Let Me Go' 19-09-10 = Maroon 5 'Misery' or Olly Murs 'Please Don't Let Me Go' 26-09-10 = Alex Gaudino 'I'm In Love (I Wanna Do It)' (unsure about this but can't see Olly Murs or Maroon 5 holding at #1 if either are #1 the previous week) 03-10-10 = Tinie Tempah 'Written In The Stars' 10-10-10 = Robbie Williams & Gary Barlow 'Shame' (might be horrendous but it screams #1 purely for names alone) 17-10-10 = Robbie Williams & Gary Barlow 'Shame'
August 15, 201014 yr Being who exactly? Alesha – Drummer Boy Alexandra Burke feat Laza Morgan - Start Without You Linkin Park – The Catalyst McFly – Party Girl Stromae - Alors On Danse Well that's 5 songs that I reckon could go top 10 on w/e 12-09-10. However I wouldn't rule out Olly Murs having massive first week sales then capitalising on this in his second week.

LP need a video sharpish, the cover for the single has premiered so it can't be long. Which of the others have a vid?
August 15, 201014 yr No-one mentioned Quo yet? :P http://www.statusquo.co.uk/images/frame/armycover_lg.jpg In The Army Now is being re-released on September 26th with all the profits going to the Help For Heroes and British Forces Foundation charities. It will get a physical release, and as it's for charity MAY get stocked by supermarkets that don't usually sell singles. Has already got coverage in the press and the band will no doubt get on GMTV, This Morning, etc to promote it. Whether they appear at the Help For Heroes concert that is being broadcast by the BBC is anybody's guess, but I think this could do rather well. This will be a laugh, will Radio 1 play it... if it goes to #1.
August 15, 201014 yr Robbie and Gary you'd assume would be a certain #1 but Robbie hasn't topped the chart since 2004 now :o and Gary since 1997 solo wise...if some big American rap song surfaces out of nowhere, maybe they'll be beaten  But yeah, unless the song's dreadful, it's going to do big big things, and probably would even if it was awful. Didn't Bodies open with 80k or something? That's rather huge for a #2, it was unlucky to be released on the same day as Bad Boys, that was always going to be huge. Robbie was extremely unlucky with Bodies missing the top spot, same goes for RKTVS. Sales of both wouldve been #1 in most other weeks. I definatly think 'Shame' will be #1 regardless of it's quality. Afterall there is little chance it's going to be alienate many people by being some electro/dance type of track - it will most likely be a big bloody ballad. But considering the first week sales of Rob's last lead single Bodies was 89,238, and TT's last lead single 'Greatest Day' was 70,302 then with with a good portion of both fanbases combined along with good promotion and good radio airplay (both virtually guaranteed) it's a dead cert for the top spot imo. Would be hilarious if it failed to do so though.
August 15, 201014 yr When will the new season of Glee air? Their first song available might be a no. 1 at some point (depending on the week it's out)
