And with that we finally have an end to one of the most overrated shows of all time. It was amusing, yes, but hardly the sort of earth shattering comedy it gets treated as every week by thousands of bloody Facebook statuses and Twitter updates.

says the guy i had to unfollow on twitter because just 5 minutes worth of your tweeting and reweeting about the x factor took up 95% of my timeline, i dont think you can really criticise people who mostly only tweet/status once or twice per week about it, rather than constantly all through it.

anyway first half this episode>>>last half this episode. this series has definatly been weaker but i still think it was good, i think some people may have had too high expectations for it, i think one problem is that we have seen less of the supporting cast this series, particulary the adults, they have just been more like a quick cameo in a few episodes, some of the adult characters are the funniest imo.

That was honestly the best episode of the series. LOVED it. The car stuff was had me in actual stitches.

The difference is that my tweets on the X Factor aren't spent entirely requoting what someone said and acting like it's the most hilarious thing said all year!

It was a good episode, but I do agree with Jack - it was better at the points where it showed some degree of depth - i.e. actually bothering to develop Jay's character a bit moreso than 'his dad takes the p*** out of him all the time' which never really went the whole way towards showing quite why he was so unlikeable. I do agree though that the adult characters were far better than the main four the majority of the time.

what a letdown for the final episode. they should have left the gig episode til last and gone out with a bang. that one was hilarious!

I think this was definitely the best way to end the actual series. I really thought it was the best, and I am actually not a fan of the supporting characters at all...(Neil's sister WOOF) the main 4 are much better. I don't like it when they try and develop the characters too much either. The Carly situation I am sure will be resovled in the film, seeing as they left it on a bit of a cliffhanger...

The car scene was actually LOL. I could see it coming a mile off, but it really was brilliant.

I agree to :/, i was routing for Charlotte to somehow come back.

But she was a year older and at uni. It was surely obvious that she wasn't going to? She was in it once, it would be fairly hard to make her come back that often.

Charlotte was awful? Not funny, and not even that good looking...

Plus there was only so many stories that she could do, I think her curtain was closed in the first episode when she told Will he had no chance.

theres gonna be a US version made :banghead: do they never learn.
Although the last episode was better than the week before i found it lacked something and i think some of you guys sumed it up by saying they could have gone into far more depth with the charactors. Series 3 had some fantastic clips and i think on the wole it was as good as series 2. I really hope the film happens as i was genuinly gutted that inbetweeners is over as such if the film doesnt go ahead.

the film is going ahead for sure, its being written now and theres already been some auditions for it, and theres already a concept annouced. even if this series was significantly worse, it still got the ratings, enough people would see the film to justify them making it, and making loads from it.

The episode itself was pretty good, though far from the best this series.

The actual ending was very disappointing. Hopefully the movie will bring a more conclusive ending to it... too many questions are left unanswered at the end of the episode and it generally didn't feel like a series finale.

I didn't laugh as much during the final episode, still amusing though.

Didn't feel like the end, but the movie will tie it all together.

It was bringing record breaking ratings for e4 (3.6 million at peak).

There should be more than 6 22 minute episodes (not including breaks) though...

The ratings have been fantastic for this series, and i agree the series(s) are far to short, even 6 episodes at 30 mins each not inclidng breaks would have been great. Each series is only about 110 minutes.

Channel 4Inbetweeners star Joe Thomas has revealed that some scenes for the upcoming movie have already been filmed.

Speaking on Daybreak on ITV1, Thomas explained that the bulk of the film will be shot early next year.

"We're filming in January," he said. "That's the plan at the moment. We've done a little bit, but the principle shoot, if I can use that term, is in January."

Thomas, who plays Simon, also confirmed that the film will focus on the characters as they go on holiday.

"It's funny, it's the sort of holiday I did everything in my power to avoid going on when I was in the final year of my exams," he joked. "But yeah, it's kind of a mental, messy holiday."

Part of it has already been filmed. They've done the abroard part in Malia this year as they needed to be there when people were around and can't wait until next summer.

cant wait for the next series

there isnt a next series.

TWO more special episodes (I'd guess 45 minutes...) to be aired next year to wrap the show off after the film.
