'Marry The Night' is the best so far even if is a bit 80s disco sounding. It just builds and builds and ends sublime and actually sounds like a GaGa song not the Hannah Montana/'Firework'-like $h!t that is TEOG and 'Hair'! MTN and 'Judas' are enough for me to actually buy this album!

Well I'm loving the sound of the whole album. It is very throwback (Hair just screams Belinda Carlisle circa Heaven Is A Place On Earth to me) but with a contemporary edge. There's nothing worse for me than great songs with weak choruses and she never fails in that department. I do think some of the tracks we've heard are over-produced which would be my only criticism so far.

I've just listened to 'Marry The Night'! It was a LQ version though, so i didn't hear the full extent of its amazingness. Its SO good though! Brilliant.

This era is absolutely fantastic, really loving it. We've heard five singles now (6 including You & I, but we've not heard the album version yet) and i ADORE every single track. 11/12 more to hear. :D

After a few more listens:

'Hair' would be perfect if it begun after the first chorus and they cut the saxophone and last chorus out. I can't believe RedOne produced it? It sounds like TEOG/DJ White Shadow.

'Marry The Night's breakdown should come one chorus earlier, the song drags out and is too long.

The Edge of Glory should have never made the album, it belongs on a Hannah Montana album, there are no words to describe how much I dislike the song! It's not Lady Gaga and it doesn't work at all.

This album is a bit of mess :drama: and if DJ White Shadow is the dominant producer my expectations of the album are really low.

With apologies to his more typical but still great stuff (On The Floor, the Nicole stuff), Hair is absolutely the greatest RedOne production in one hell of a long time. He really stepped way outside of his comfort zone for that one which makes you wonder what he was thinking when he rehashed Bad Romance for Judas.

I think this album has all the hallmarks of a genuine classic - the pop equivalent of Come On Over, something that can spawn eight singles and still be in the top 10 of album charts globally eighteen months on. Hair and Marry The Night are absolutely fucking astounding.

Hair has gone up from my rating of 8/10 to 9/10. The chorus is a 10 and it's only the production that knocks off one point. It's still amazing though.

Marry The Night is not as instant but I know it'll grow on me with repeat listens. 7/10 so far.

I was about to listen to 'Marry the Night', but stopped it before it began. :P The instrumental from the Gagavision a few weeks back was AMAZING though, so hopefully the full song will be the same.
Hair 08.5

I live for this songs verses. It's a bit of a hot mess but the chorus is so TEOG-like which puts me off and the saxophone is so unnecessary.

O M G, I know! The verses are incredible but the production in the chorus is SO over the top. A bit of remodelling with the production and this song would be a million times better!

The "I'm as free as my hair air air air air" bit, I love also <3

'Hair' is REALLY growing on me. I'm actually dying to get my hands on the physical copy of this. On TV last night there was advert of the album with the motorcycle cover and my mum burst out laughing at what it looked liked LoL. .

That's what makes the song for me and the switch up in the second verse and then the chorus comes and it's like MOOD KILL!

From the Hits Daily Double website.

[Born This Way] Early estimates of first-week sales range widely from 500k to 750k.

:o It looks like it'll do over 500k in its first week! HUGE. not that it wasn't expected :P

'Marry the Night' sounds very good on first listen, but I agree with what some people are saying about it being nothing new... Still a good song though, but for Lady GaGa, I'd say it's disappointing. 'Hair' is very disappointing though! No idea why people are raving about it, the lyrics are awful and the chorus is just dull...
