I honestly cannot understand why this is getting rave reviews? :manson:

Why? It's an incredibly creative and left-field step for probably the biggest artist in the world at the moment, surely that at least would explain part of the rave reviews?

IN MY OPINION U WHORE.

04 Marry The Night: Nothing special if I am being brutally honest. Incredibly bland if anything.

02 Born This Way: By far one of the worst things that I have heard all year.

04 Government Hooker: ? Slick production, but it's just style and no substance.

06 Judas: Catchy hook, great lyrics.

05 Americano: I found it too cliché, but it's an interesting track. Wouldn't want to listen to it again however.

06 Hair: Lyrically it's stupid. Fantastic production however!

07 Sheiße: Judas' twin brother possibly? Apart from the similarities, this is brilliant. Has that european-underground vibe about it.

03 Bloody Mary: Halfway through the track I had already forgotten what I was listening to, it's beyond bland.

03 Black Jesus † Amen Fashion: By now this just sounds like everything that I've heard already.

02 Bad Kids: Opens up like MJ's 'They Don't Care About Us' then starts sounding a lot like Electric Six's 'High Voltage'. I don't get it?

04 Fashion Of His Love: Similar to 'Born This Way', great melodic production and vocals also.

05 Highway Unicorn (Road to Love): It's quite messy sounding, which I like. Chorus lets it down so bad though.

06 Heavy Metal Lovers: Reminds me of Marilyn Manson for some STRANGE reason. Has a lot of great production elements to it, I could easily listen to it on repeat.

04 Electric Chapel: Started of sounding so promising. What a dissapointment.

02 The Queen: Just sounds like an unfinished demo..

08 Yoü & I: She sounds so vocally great when singing alongside a piano. The Brian May addition adds pretty much nothing to the track, it just turns it into an lukewarm Aerosmith record, still really like it however!

08 The Edge Of Glory: Stupidly good! (A massive grower). It's like an electronic Heart ballad.

Which makes that 4.6/10, which I think seems fair.

To me, it just seems like a a poor imitation of what a 2011 Bowie electronic record would sound like, which is a shame because the last two tracks are brilliant! She should ditch the synths and go glam rock imo, it's where she excels.

It's creative but only about three of the songs are particularly 'left field'. What's special about the album is the sheer amount of effort put in. It's meticulous and she's giving it her all. But that doesn't make it left field. And it's not a criticism.

I actually agree with Jark, I wouldn't say it's particularly left-field on the whole - but you can tell she's meticulously perfected this, which I think is pretty rare nowadays, from an artist having that much creative input particularly. Really growing on me now, Hair and The Edge of Glory have grown on me massively, Marry The Night is still brilliant, and I was one of the (few) people that loved both Born This Way and Judas anyway.

I was just catching up with her Radio1 Big Weekend performance on iPlayer, and as someone who is a fan (not a loon by any stretch, but able to judge without bias I reckon), I think it's clear what an absolute star she is. I didn't get the chance to catch the Monster Ball Tour, and this is really the first live "set" of sorts I've seen her do and I was incredibly impressed, what a spectacle. She literally had the audience eating out of her hands, and I think it's a testament to how huge she has become by the fact that the crowd were literally chanting every lyric back to her. You lose sight of how many huge hits she's had until they're all condensed into a setlist, for her short time in the industry I think it's safe to say she's the biggest breakout star we've seen in quite sometime. I actually can't even remember the last time somebody had this much impact on the industry so soon, during my lifetime anyway.

I take my hat off to her! :music:

i really NEVER can enjoy any popular music song with SAXOPHONE in it. even gaga cannot muster it. porn//cheese.

Not even Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You? I was completely CONVINCED it'd be on any playlist you created. :o

Only songs I dislike now are Hair, Born This Way and Bad Kids... The rest is extremely good.
Americano and Scheibe are growing on me. While im starting to like the album, it's not as good as The Fame and i still feel let down in places.
The copy editor in me might just CUT A BITCH if he sees someone spell it Scheibe ONE MORE TIME. It's an ß, an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT LETTER PEOPLE :(

i like hair despite the fact that it's so cheesy

why the HELL was marry the night not the lead / 2nd single? best song on the album jesus. the end is crazy. it has to be released 4th...

^ too true! It's so instant and that chorus is catchy as hell

Heavy metal lover is on serious repeat right now. The ooo ooo oo oo ooo part is so god damn good!

Your comments contradict your rates. You call "Sheiße" brilliant yet only give it a 7?

I've came to the conclusion that 'Heavy Metal Lover' is my favourite! So simple yet so effective! It sounds immense on full blast in your car!
Best songs for me are Sheiße and Government Hooker. She so delivered with this album.
