So, what's on tonight then ...

Gold Digger just been performed. With the fuss they made over the guy I would be suprised if it went top 40 again this week.

That version of Corona's "Rhythm Of The Night" at the start of the show was by Hermes House Band, but I don't suppose anyone will start buying it

I did wonder, I've never heard that version before, although shamefully I own Que Sera Sera on single and am of course aware of the sensation that was Country Roads and its epic month run at #10!!!

Leona's 'Run' will probably be boosted a lot, despite the fact that the performance was overly nasal/$h!t.

I convinced my Dad to put some money on that to be Christmas #1 of 2001 but yeah ended up Christmas #10. Oh well!

He was good though. He also had just the right amount of confidence without appearing too cocky.

I thought it would be #2 at xmas if it helps but some borefest by a one hit wonder middle aged man was instead, can't remember the name of it. I definitely remember thinking that Robbie and Nicole would always do it though. Ah, the days of the xmas chart battle with no reality TV show songs involved!

Gordon Haskell? :kink: I don't know if I should be embarrassed that I didn't even have to look that up! I don't have a clue how the song goes though. I imagine the only time I heard it was in the two or three weeks it was even in the chart.

Neither deserved #1 anyway. Shame as there were some far better songs around at the time that would have made a great Xmas #1 - Gotta Get Thru This, Murder On The Dancefloor, Have You Ever, What If...

That's it. And I do remember how it goes vaguely, although it was really bland, although I agree that Somethin' Stupid was too. But the biggest stars in music and film at the time duetting was always going to be huge.

Yes indeed, or my personal favourite from that xmas top 10, along with Murder on the Dancefloor - Will I by Ian Van Dahl :D Funnily enough, I was listening to Have You Ever earlier, for the first time in years. When Jo was on top form vocally, she was really brilliant, like Karen Carpenter for the 00's. That and Never Had A Dream Come True were like solo tracks, the rest of the band were mere backing vocalists behind her powerhouse voice. :D

I don't watch the show, so I don't know whether it was performed or heard in the background, but "Pack Up" was featured, as was "Sex on Fire".

Pack Up was played in the background and Sex on Fire was used in a clip for a competition (I think)

Can you include the background songs as well - 'Pack Up' has received the biggest boost of any of the songs, so the background songs are just as important.
