The BIG question :o

Will they TOTALLY disappear of the face of the earth after their second album? Or are we possibly looking at the biggest band of the 21st century here? Personally I see them going down the Oasis route with their first few albums being really good but then they still sell more but the quality of the music isn't as good if you know what I mean ;)

To be honest I don't see them lasting, but I guess time will tell. Let's just enjoy them while they're around. ;)

Well what about the fanbase? I think it's too big for it all apart THAT soon ;)
I reckon most of the fanbase will like what the NME tells them to like... so if said magazine suddenly goes off them (like they did The Darkness, Keane, Dashboard Confessional...) it could all go to hell pretty quickly.

Well the thing is that the fanbase was formed from the demos being traded on the internet and THEN the NME started to say how good they actually were and so MORE people got to hear about them. They were filling big places before they were famous too ^_^ Also more ofthe media only started hyping them up AFTER I Bet You Look Good was #1 etc. Only time will tell but I think their second album will do quite well at least ;) and it seems they've got plenty more good songs up their sleeves :cheer:

Well I suppose we COULD say will they be The Beatles, The Stone Roses or Oasis ;)

© Gabriel on Cool Clarity ;) (I know I nicked it :P )

Of course they'll last! Why'd they disappear if they're one of the biggest things that happened to music in the last few years??

Well sometimes you get hyped up to being the best thing to happen in years yet nobody cares about you in a few years *coughTheDarknesscough* -_-

But as I said considering how MASSIVE the fanbase is and how dedicated it is I can't see them falling that quickly ;)

I agree, The Darkness were more of a "moment" thing, I believe the Arctic Monkeys have gained a true fanbase now.

But they do need to continue making great music to maintain that fanbase otherwise it would be gone by the third album :P Well lets hope that they DO do that so they'll gain an Oasis style fanbase (as in they'll buy anything even if it's just Liam farting into a microphone ;) ) as I said the fanbase is strong enough so the second album will be quite successful AT LEAST.

Yeah, I do think they'll last, however in 10 years time while I'd imagine they'd still be going strong they wont be selling as many records.

I'm not sure, I personally don't see what all the fuss is about but then again I don't have their album and have only heard two songs!

I think they'll last like Oasis have done tbh...
