It got puched back a few weeks didn't it? There has been zero promo... if it is released this week/next week it'll def flop.. why bother drafting Dizzee in just to get a flop?!

I can barely listen to this anymore. She Wolf was still on heavy rotation this time last year - and I probably listened to Fijación Oral religiously for over a year. Such a disappointment.

Yep, this is a classic case of an artist doing something experimental/amazing then stepping back from it when it doesn't sell well with a safe album.

The only tracks I still listen to are Lo Que Mas, Devocion and Gordita. This is probably the first Shakira album where I don;t know the words to every song.

On an unrelated note, I've been listening to a lot of Major Lazer recently and noticed how Gordita has the same drums as Pon De Floor in the breakdown bit. Shakira should just do some ridiculous dancehall electro-rock album with Diplo and John Hill. The songs that John Hill has done for SW and SES are among Shakira's best and so is Gordita.

This album is still nowhere near as good as She Wolf :( I've been trying to get into it for months, but I only really like Islands, Rabbiosa, Loca, Waka Waka and Sal El Sol :(

1. Loca

2. Waka Waka

3. Islands

4. Sal El Sol

5. Rabbiosa

Loca, WW and Islands are all amazing  SES is great, as is Rabbiosa. Rest of the album is meh imo :(

So... did this ever get released?
  • 3 weeks later...

Had another listen to this and at points i can still hear remnants of the She Wolf sound, it's just quite well hidden.

Devoción is absolute HEAVEN though. Becoming one of my fave Shakira songs
