It's in the Sunday papers that he's been sleeping with an escort girl whilst Colleen was pregnant. I know it's only the Sunday papers, but it's more than one (The Mirror and NOTW) and I don't think they'd run it if it didn't have at least elements of truth in it, and it was revealed that there was more than John Terry who'd had a court injuction preventing his private life being revealed.

HA f***ing knew it!!!

Guess the person who told me about the players who had had taken out court injuctions was right...

What's this? :o

3 England international players have taken out court injunctions within the past month (all played at World Cup I think).

99.9% sure I know who two of them are (Rooney was one).

FASCINATING.

Disagree Craig. These are professional sports stars, people look up to these guys. He's got a wife whose preggers - he shouldn't be shagging escorts/prossies. It's a f***ing disgrace for any man to do that behind a pregant wifes back, let alone a professional footballer whose ALREADY done this before.

Well, I obviously agree he shouldnt be doing it but I dont really see why it matters in a footballing sense - it doesn't affect him on the pitch, infact the media will cause more of an effect on the pitch. Imo football and personal life should remain seperate in cases like this.

The media will report anything, because it sells! All the 'big' allegations are always released on a Sunday as they know damn well that the paper will sell more copies, which is why they hold everything back. Cases like these effect the players massively (remember JT's poor form when his allegations hit the light) and i'm sure Gerrard's poor form last year had a lot to do with all the rumours about his private life. Rooney's a complete idiot for doing something as daft as that and thinking he could get away with it - same goes for every sports star who causes infidelity. Their whole career can be tarnished in one story. Idiots if you ask me.

I'm not saying he's not an idiot for doing it, of course he is and obviously with the overactive media working how it does he was never ever going to get away with it. However, that aside, I still think it's wrong for it to affect with his footballing skill. We need him for England and we especially need him for United, and in that respect, I couldnt really give a $h!t what he does in his private life, whether he's a twat in it or not.

Both England and Man Utd need him, but if his head isn't in the right place then he's a DANGER to the teams. His head will not be in the right place, and it will affect his game massively. I'd rather he didn't start for England against the Swiss if his head's not in the right place. I think it's worse thos time as he's already done it before... it'd be like John Terry having an affair with Christine Bleakley! lol.

So glad Rooney got a goal (Rooney scores away from home :D  :yahoo: ) but yeah I don't endorse what he does but I'm sick of a big deal being made out of the private lives of footballers. -_-

I feel sorry for Craig right now  Poor Walcott as well, been one of the best players in the league this season!

Nobody is seriously going to say though "Rooney sleeps with a prostitute, I must because I look up to him", that isnt the way the world works, I don't believe that footballers need to be role models other than on the pitch, loads of Gerrard fanboys didnt go and start fights because he beat up a DJ, loads of Terry fans didn't go cheating with their best mates partners etc, there is no link between the 2, he should be a role model ON the pitch but off the pitch what a footballer does is a private matter to me unless the laws of the land are broken

LOL King crippled on England duty, Defoe crippled on England duty, Dawson crippled on England duty :(

it is getting fukkin ridiculous :/

What REALLY sets a bad example is things like diving, faking injury to get players sent off, stamping on players, being abusive to refs, those things are way higher in the role model stakes than anything Rooney or Gerrard or Terry for example get up to off the field.

A kid seeing Gerrard dive is going to be far more corrupted and likely to imitate him than anything Gerrard does in his private life for example

So glad Bent scored, cracking finish. Probably won't change anything in Cappello's mind, but at least it shows what he can do when he actually gets some decent service.
