The Sats are 9th combined :) but Will.i.am is now top 10.. i can see that picking up.. but i think stay has no chance of coming top 10 this week now !! woooo.. gonna be a good battle(always is with the saturdays) I think The Sats will overtake B.O.B soon and then shakespear :) promotion and physicals ohhh gonna be a nice battle.. seems as if the sats beneifted today.. i think they will just be 10th tommorow or maybe even 9th?
A celebration of The Saturdays barely getting top 10? Weren't they gunning for #1, hence the abysmal & lazy Flo Rida "extra" being added

They probably get top 1 if the song hasn't been released when Headlines cames out.

Yeah, 'cos they really would have sold over 100k and beaten Rihanna

Honestly, some Saturdays fans are living in cloud cuckoo land. They've tried everything (charity singles, multiple versions/remixes, cheap fan tactics, releasing on quiet weeks, adding rappers to singles) and still haven't got a #1 because they're simply NOT popular enough. The only way they're going to get a #1 is if they release a truly great, classic track with mass appeal (ie. Eternal - I Wanna Be The Only One, who were similarly missing out, like The Saturdays are, before that song came out). As of yet they haven't done that - the closest was Ego IMHO, but even that was far off.

I'm almost certain Up could have got #1 if it was reserved for when they got a bit more recognised.

I'm a fan, but definitely not a loon. But Higher was never going to get to the #1. The promotion campaign started way to early and therefore people were already starting to download it weeks ago. So ofcourse I wouldn't get a very high position this week, it has already sold 90k! And adding a few Flo Rida lines is definitely not going to make that much of a difference. But it still has sold another 19k, which makes the total around 110k for now and the week is not even over.
The Sats up to #11 hopefully with today's and tomorrows promo they can get into the Itunes top 10
missingyou what are the saturdays singing in that picture of yours?

Here Standing, Performed Yesterday kinda fitted in with the poppy's and that, way more approprite than died in your eyes.

This is a mile better than Missing You, this is actually very good- I havent heard the Flo-less version, although his rap is slightly needless on this one tbh

anyway, number 3 and if its lucky, number 2- Im sure this wont get to number 1, Cheryl will definitely be either 1 or 2 that week and Nadines song could well go to number 1 with an XF slot, and doubtless after this they will ask for a collaboration with Cheryl

Number 2, behind Cheryl Cole I think. Nadine will end up @ 4 or 5 probs!

they will lose out against Nadine :D and Cheryl :D

sorry for them

I'm thinking top 5 if they don't get the X-Factor slot, which is something I'm not terribly sure if a realistic possibility or not. They are releasing at an extremly busy time of year, if they do get the performance slot it's a completly different matter of course.

Top 3

I voted top 5, but now that I think of it the Flo Rida cameo could push them up to No.1 :o

Definitely their best Video..Alot more effort and money has gone into it and it shows!

I reckon this could easily go to number 1 when this starts hitting radio and Music channels.

Plus ITV2 are already showing the video another 2 times and with more repeats of The Sats 24/7 should help alot.

I can see them peaking way before the Flo version is out though.

Shame it's being released during The X Factor season otherwise I would have said dead cert #1 as it deserves it!

#3 I say!

Oh dear oh dear. I perfect set of examples of positive bias- since sats fans are the only ones (except the 10% who irrationally hate everything i suppose) caring enough to post in the thread they all wildly overestimate their appeal clouded by where they think it "deserves". I could've quoted 16000 more but i didn't have the heart to keep going. Glad they made top10 by the skin of their teeth in the end. :arrr:

Err, sadly THIS :arrr:

in my defence, I didnt know the song would chart early- once it did and hung around 22-25 for a long time, I knew it wasnt going anywhere near number 1

tbh, them putting Flo Rida on was just so pointless- it was fine as it was, and he adds zelch to the track, it just came across that they were clearly desperate for a number 1 by putting someone whos had 2 on their song

had it been marketed right, it could have charted higher- not number 1, but maybe not just scraping the top 10

i agree. its done really well for weeks before full release and the florida thing is a bit of a laff for the fans who'll understand his significance to the band. I think it has been marketed right in terms of good overall sales even if not its absolute best peak.

I wasn't trying to single anyone out personally which is why i quoted so many, just funny almost everyone go so caught up in thinking it would peak so high when on reflection the odds were more against it

after this week it will be on around 150,000 sales and still be top 20 in its second week since full release. i'd say they did pretty well.

ok it wasn't number one, but maybe being number one isnt everything.

id much rather them eventually get there than have an instant #1 and then never get there again for the rest of their careers.

thats a nice idea. them not doing it on a stunt, but maybe a lead or 2nd single a couple of years down the line. A bit like All Saints and Never Ever, that went to no1 a while after everyone thought they had lost their shot with it and ended up selling buckets (although they had a few no1s in their time)
Thanks guys for answering me. :)
