September 19, 201014 yr Author http://australian-charts.com/forum.asp?tod...3671&pages= Gavin Ryan's Chartifacts (Thanks to Gavin Ryan) Singles For a fourth week, Taio Cruz blows away any competition from the ARIA No.1 Singles spot with his track "Dynamite" (DL: 1 hold), which of course keeps Katy Perry off the top spot for a third week, as she lays at No.2 again with "Teenage Dream" (DL: 2 hold) once again, this time on both the singles and album charts, more on that later. Moving back up to its original peak of No.3 is "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love" (DL: 5 to 3, Phys: 13 to 11) from Usher and Pitbull, which hit its peak in the second week on the charts, now reclaiming that spot in its ninth week. With Usher moving up, it pushes Eminem and Rihanna with "Love the Way You Lie" (DL: 3 to 4) down one place to No.4. Moving up to a new peak of No.5 is Bruno Mars and his debut solo single "Just the Way You Are" (DL: 8 to 5), and in doing so it gives him his third Top 5 appearance, as his two featured guest vocal tracks for "Nothin' on You" (with B.o.B, No.3 TW-86) and "Billionaire" (with Travie McCoy, No.5 TW-25) were both top five hits. Although it peaked at No.5 two weeks ago, Ke$ha's "Take it Off" (DL: 6 hold) is spending a second week at No.6 in it's sixth week on the charts, and moving up to a new peak of No.7 is Cee-Lo Green's "F.U." (DL: 9 hold), whilst the biggest drop within the Top 10 goes to Flo Rida and David Guetta's "Club Can't Handle Me" (DL: 4 to 7), which drops four places to No.8 this week. The two new entrants to the Top 10 come from last weeks highest debuting track, Nelly's "Just a Dream" (DL: 23 to 8), which jumps fifteen places to land at No.9, and now his 23rd charting single becomes his ninth Top 10 entry. And making his first ever Top 10 appearance at No.10 is Mike Posner with "Cooler Than Me" (DL: 14 to 10), which climbs three places this week. New Peaks: B.o.B. is set to score his third consecutive Top 10 hit, as his latest single "Magic" (DL: 15 to 11) moves up four places to No.11, and The Script return to their entry position from four weeks ago of No.12 with "For the First Time" (DL: 13 to 12), helped by their new albums high debut no doubt. Another act who debut with a new album is Little Red, who rocket up nine places to No.19 with "Rock it" (DL: 27 to 22), their second album scoring a Top 10 debut. Another local act, Zoe Badwi, jumps twelve places to No.24 with her dance track "Freefallin'" (DL: 34 to 23). With the new No.1 album this week going to Linkin Park, they also score themselves the biggest jump within the Top 50, as "The Catalyst" (DL: 48 to 32) is up sixteen places this week to No.33. Up fifteen places to No.35 is the former No.4 song from December 2009, "Empire State of Mind" (DL: 49 to 35) from Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, which was helped back up the charts by its use during last weeks X-Factor elimination episodes, as two of the four teams went to New York for their singing finales, plus the Alicia Keys 'Broken Down' version re-enters at No.78. Previously Bliss N' Eso have reached No.43 and No.45 on the ARIA charts, but this week they score their first Top 40 entry, as "Addicted" climbs a couple of places to land at No.39, and another local act, The Potbelleez move up nine places to No.42 with their latest single "Hello", breaking into the Top 50 for the first time. The local female duo of Scarlett Belle score the highest new entry of the week, debuting at No.40 with their second single "Freak Tonight" (DL: 40 debut). The first single "Closure" debuted and peaked at No.38 in its first week on the charts back in July. Below Top 50: Brian McFadden and Delta Goodrem's second duet "Mistakes" is the biggest Top 100 climber this week as it's up twenty-one places to No.54. Ahead of their upcoming national tour, Pendulum re-climb nine places to No.60 with "Witchcraft", four places below its original peak of No.56. And possibly due to its great use on The Simpsons opening credits this week, Ke$ha's "Tik Tok" is up twelve places to No.70, now in it's 48th week in the Top 100. Check it out here if you missed it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYb5aV5Z9WY&feature=fvsr The second single from Kylie Minogue's "Aphrodite" album (TW-45) entitled "Get Outta My Way" debuts at No.69 this week. It’s her 47th singles chart entry, and as it debut so low it’s also her lowest debuting single in her charting career. Her previous lowest entry was “Finer Feelings” which debuted and peaked at No.60 in the first week of July 1992. But more formats/versions of the song are soon to be released, so hopefully this song won’t stay too long down this end of the Top 100. The other Australian act to debut lower down in the charts is Sydney's Sparkadia, who enter at No.82 with "Talking Like I'm Falling Down Stairs", and this is the first taste of their early 2011 due second album, and the band are currently touring with Little Red on their national tour. This is their first ARIA Singles Chart entry. Sean Kingston debuts at No.73 with his second single of the year and tenth overall, "Letting Go (Dutty Rock)". His previous No.11 single "Eenie Meenie" falls out of the Top 100 this week after 25 weeks in the chart, and this new track (like the previous) features a guest vocalist, this time Nicki Minaj, who also appears as guest vocalist on Jay Sean's "2012" single (TW-47). Ou est Le Swimming Pool score their second Top 100 entry by debuting at No.79 with "Jackson's Last Stand", which could possibly be their last charting single, as their lead singer died a month ago. They are still on the charts with their first single "Dance the Way I Fell", which is down two places to No.31 this week. The Plain White T's enter at No.85 with their third ARIA Singles Chart entry "Rhythm of Love", the first taste of the mid-October due sixth album "The Wonder of the Younger". Lastly, lead singer of Live, Ed Kowalczyk lands his first solo chart entry by debuting at No.100 with "Grace", the first single to be lifted from his album "Alive" (HP-42, August 2010). Albums The fourth studio album for Linkin Park becomes their second No.1 album in a row, as "A Thousand Suns" leaps into the top spot first week out. It becomes the 619th No.1 album in Australia (1965 to 2010) and the first for the group to debut at the top spot, as “Minutes to Midnight” debuted at No.2 and rose to No.1 the following week. It’s only the fourth album to feature ‘Thousand” in its title, the others were for Natalie Bassingthwaighte’s “1000 Stars” (March 2009), Tool’s “10,000 Days” (May 2006) and to go a little higher, “20,000 Watt RSL” from Midnight Oil (October 1997). It’s also the fourth ‘Sun’ to reach the top of the album charts, the last being Pete Murray’s “See the Sun” back in October 2005. “A Thousand Suns” is the 224th No.1 album performed by an American performer, the 109th by an American Group, and the 295th by a Group, with the last US Group to hit the top of our album charts being The Foo Fighters in November of 2009 with their “Greatest Hits” collection. The bands previous chart efforts are below… Alb Entry Date (WA)HP WI/Tally Titles A1 11-Dec-00 (3) 2 96a HYBRID THEORY R1 12-Aug-02 16 12 REANIMATION A1 20-Jan-03 97 1 / 97 HYBRID THEORY ® A1 24-Mar-03 83 4 / 101 HYBRID THEORY ® A2 31-Mar-03 2 76a METEORA A1 7-Jul-03 78 6 / 107 HYBRID THEORY ® L1 8-Dec-03 18 20 LIVE IN TEXAS R2 6-Dec-04 (2) 8 21 MTV ULTIMATE MASH-UP PRESENTS: COLLISION COURSE A3 21-May-07 (1) 1 49 MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT A3 23-Jun-08 27 25a / 74 MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT ® L2 8-Dec-08 24 14 ROAD TO REVOLUTION: LIVE AT MILTON KEYNES A3 9-Nov-09 64 5a / 79 MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT ® A1 22-Mar-10 98 1 / 108 HYBRID THEORY ® A4 20-Sep-10 (1) 1 1* A THOUSAND SUNS With five new entries to the Top 10 the remainder of the non-debuts all move down. September 21, 201014 yr  Ou est Le Swimming Pool score their second Top 100 entry by debuting at No.79 with "Jackson's Last Stand", which could possibly be their last charting single, as their lead singer died a month ago. They are still on the charts with their first single"Dance the Way I Fell", which is down two places to No.31 this week. I think the chart commentary guy made an unfortunate typo there.
